The Official Aldon Smith's High Speed Car Chase to the Sack Record

Direct Snap: Aldon Smith out to make Tom Brady his latest prime-time punching bag

"If you want to beat the Patriots, you have to get to Tom," New York Giants defensive lineman Justin Tuck said this offseason. "You have to get him off his mark. If he stands in there and just delivers, he's going to kill you. If you get him to move or get to him, you have a chance. He starts to look around and he starts to get anxious, yelling a lot."

For each sack, 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith donating $5,099 to Boys & Girls Clubs

San Francisco 49ers outside linebacker and Defensive Player of the Year candidate Aldon Smith is approaching former New York Giants and current Fox pregame panelist Michael Strahan's single-season record for quarterback sacks. Smith needs just three sacks in the final three games to equal the mark, which he is commemorating by donating $5,099 (Smith wears No. 99) for each sack he achieves to the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco (Willy Mays Clubhouse at Hunters Point) and Boys & Girls Clubs of The Peninsula (East Palo Alto Clubhouse).

With 19.5 sacks, Smith's current donation total is $99,430.50, which is already a considerable portion of $1,028,818 base salary that the No. 7 overall pick of the 2011 NFL draft is earning this season.

Surprising that most of his pressure comes from the inside rather than outside like most speed rushers. Hope he introduces himself to Brady more than a few times on Sunday night.

Why does NFL have aldon listed at 20 sacks? Is this a typeo or did they go through the game film and realize he got more?

Also remember how many sacks he has had called back cause of penalties not caused by him? Like one in GB and another one that I can't remember which team but Carlos Rogers got some penalty I think . Might of been brown lol

What a boss
Michael Strahan gives his "blessing" for Aldon Smith to break his record.

Thanks?

lol, he knows it's inevitable.
Im betting Aldon gets 3 1/2 tonite for the record. If the field is wet and slick, there's no way the Olinemen have any leverage to stop him and Justin.

Get your Game Face on Aldon! Beast mode!

It's no longer a chase, it's a race.

With Watt in the lead.

What a boss

That's cool and all but consider that this money is to last the rest of his life after football seems he's going to be broke a few years after his playing days are over.. Well on the plus side his next contract is going to be the highest paid OLB in the league!

Whats your basis for him being broke immediately after retirement? Cause he got stabbed at a house party(doesn't indicate frivolous spending), got in a car ACCIDENT as the passenger(doesn't indicate frivolous spending), got a DUI(doesn't indicate frivolous spending, just poor judgement by a 22 year old)........
