Hi everyone! I just want to say that I'm very excited about this game vs the Bears. This is an opportunity for the 49ers to show their dominance against a reputable team. We are VERY fortunate that the team is relatively healthy and there are no key players injured! And I think Alex Smith is on the brink of becoming an elite QB and he will prove that once we get to the playoffs with the offense clicking like a well oiled machine! Also, I am happy for Kaepernick, he is making the best of his opportunities! We have an awesome backup!
ok that's it.
Who's got it better than us!? Noobody!!

Rams have a running game and some receivers who want to prove themselves. Armadillo played his arse off...injured and all. And their defense has played well for the most part this season (oh here comes dtg running in here with those two 400 yard games).
Bradford played smart and played well against our defense, in our stadium.
They are still an inconsistent team that are trying to get their sh1t together...we were there a few years back. We upset other teams a few times as well when we were on our game.
but yes they are a team we should beat, especially at home....but at least we are getting to see how teams are going to be game planning against us, we have the rest of the season to tie up some loose ends before playoff time.

Smith will play, but it will still be a defensive battle. I doubt Cutler gets cleared, and Id favor the Alex vs. Campbell matchup in Candlestick. It's not going to be a shootout, but I think we have a good shot at winning this week.

Divissional games are always tough, but this tie would have been easier to swallow had it been in STL. Coming off a bye week......playing at home....winning 2 important divisional games before the week off.......everything was set up for a commanding lead in the NFC West, except we came out flat (again). Whats most disturbing is the inconsistency we have on defense. Fine, on offense we can blame the lack of production on mediocre QB play, awful playcalling, dropped passes, etc....same old story. But this is a dominating defense --- the problem I have is that they come out flat by CHOICE, and after they get their asses whipped for a couple drives, they wake up and play great again.
We gave up 14 points in the first 2 drives......then 10 for the rest of the game. Make those 14 pts into 6, and this is an easy win for us. Been seeing a lot of "lets take some plays off" with this defense this year. Better shape up....doesnt work so well in the playoffs.

Our weakness on defense is covering the WCO. Quick slants and short passes do not favor us, IMO. We struggle against guys like Amendola and Cruz. Chicago does not pose that problem. Brandon Marshall, Calvin Johnson, Greg Jennings are big time targets that usually go for the jugular. Wont be a factor IMO.
