I agree old friend. Staley didn't have the best day, but had to be annoying with a broken nose, props and respect to him for playing like that. Staley wasn't worth that big 40M deal, but is slowly coming along as an premier LT.

And I look forward to beating the Jets, still haven't forgotten they were charged for tampering with Crabtree before he signed and case was dropped. Their fat a$$ coach was wishing he could play the Niners and get "revenge"...well, we're gonna whoop them instead!
Yeah, no more FG slam Vernon.
And Yeah I want the Jets game bad, I hate the NY media here, and I want to see them beaten in Jersey, beat the hell out of them.

He got beat a couple times, but Clay Mathews is no joke. For the most part he did fairly well. Smith deserves some blame for the one sack where he should have stepped up in the pocket, but I believe he thought he had more time back there. But really no complaints about our Oline besides the one sack where Woodson basically came untouched and that seemed to be a protection issue more than a missed block.

Perfect you touched on everything. My biggest concern was Staley getting beat by Matthews, but just like you, I don't think it's that big of a concern, I mean it Clay Matthews, that's what he does. The only two players that really gave us problems were Matthews and Woodson and that's expected and we responded well.

Game confirmed offensively what I believed Harbaugh and Baalke's thought process was when were adding all of these pieces on offense in free agency and in the draft.
We get labeled a power running team but the reality is Harbaugh and staff want to beat teams with passing, running, speed, and power so we added all of these different pieces to give our offensive staff a full toolbox to work with so to speak. If the opposing defense is weak against speed we're going to give them a heavy dose of speed. If they are weak against power than we'll throw the meat at them and slam it down their throats and so on.
To go along with that we're going to make it tough for defenses to gameplan against us because we throw out so many personnel groupings and formations that it'll just overload defenses with too much to follow. Unlike the Packers for example in that you know they are going to try to spread you out and throw the ball against you so it makes it a far easier process to gameplan for a defense.
This is why I love Harbaugh and staff because they are masters at an unappreciated aspect of the game in strategy. And I'm not talking just about gameplanning but the mind games aspect of it. He takes what I like to call an Alexander The Great approach to strategy in that you figure out how your opponent will attack you and once you know that than you can counter it. Also you throw in some unconventional tactics to confuse your opponent and capitalize on that confusion. I don't think the coaching staff gets enough credit in how brilliant they are in this aspect.

Nice post. I was also impressed on how many first downs they picked up, especially in the 1st half. I don't know the exact stats but I think they had more than the pack in the first half. They made it look easy out there yesterday.

Superb, Marvin, as was the entire 49er team, in particular Coach Harbaugh. Fangio tried to give it away once we had the 2 TD(plus 2 pointers) lead, by playing not to lose. Well, Rodgers smartly moved the Pack down for a quick 8 pts. I don't recall how long fangio had us in the 3 man front, but without a passrush, Rodgers just took us apart. Rodgers, like Brady, does NOT like the BIG PASS RUSH. He gets antsy, escaped a number of times, but was definitely uncomfortable (to say the least) with the BIG passrush. Like they say, "Play not to lose, and you lose". Fangio pretty well tried that out for the brief series where Rodgers moved the Pack downfield so fast, that Fangio must have been thinking, "Unnnhhh, maybe we shouldn't be in a 3-4 and maybe we should go back to 4 or 5 guys on LOS and 4 or 5 passrushing." Well, the good news is fangio DID change course, and put back in the D that had bedeviled Rodgers all day....4-3 with 5 guys, sometimes 6 or 7 on LOS...with 4 or 5 passrushing. I thot for a few minutes fangio wanted to give GB the game...until he reverted to what had worked all day.
Re: NCommand's note, our #1 pick, #2 pick, big bad Jacobs...never saw the field all day. And I had thot the key to success in GB was LaMichael split wide of alex, with a lateral or pass to him on every 3rd down. Nope, La Mic never stepped foot on the field. Instead, Coach just power balled the multiple BIG MAN RUN PACKS, and all started out the same, but all ended up different. On Frank's TD, the blocking was just a thing of beauty. BIG PACK GUYS sealed the right side, Miller threw a full speed cut block and Frank did the rest...with the shiddy helmet shot in the end zone...which should have gotten somebody thrown out of the game. Play was well over when that jackass hit frank in the helmet. It was really a cheap shot. Point is , the BIG MAN PACK was incredibly successful, and yet each one looked the same at outset, even after play started, and then Coach gave GB a different look each time.
Player of the game? without a doubt, Jim Harbaugh. Our coach was just way better than Mike McCarthy, and the coaching plan plus in game execution, putting the right guy in the game at the right time....that was pure Coach Harbaugh. And yes, he IS better than his brother John, an excellent coach in his own right.
As for alex...I didn't read or hear a lot about "he couldn't do this" or "he didn't do that". Point of fact, alex played an almost flawless game. If I had one tiny complaint it would be that he didn't step up into the pocket on either sack, and on one, for certain, it was open. On the other , I think stepping into pocket would have been open. That's it. Otherwise he played and essentially PERFECT game. Oh, and the indecision he gets called out on? Unnnhhh....it wasn't there. Guy played perfect football in a perfect game plan.
Receivers? well alex didn't have that many in NFC Title game, and hence didn't complete many passes. Crbtre caught none against Saints, and maybe one against Giants...and there just wasn't anybody else. It makes a helluva difference when you have Mario, crbtre, vernon, moss, Delanie(and he dropped 3) all catching passes. Put those guys in last yrs title game and we win going away. Alex finally got his OL last yr, but it had a hole at center. That is now fixed, OL played very well(except for Hawk beating up Staley), running game was great with hunter giving frank a breather, and D played , well, better than last yr. Remember how much consternation there was about whether D could possibly play up to last yr? Well, they exceeded last yr. Season isn't over, but we did get to see what our D can do. And once again, putting the perfect player in the perfect spot resulted in p52 on the sideline for 1/3 of the D plays. Brilliant. Coach knew that Bowman covered better and p52 was on sideline for many of those passing plays. I would never have done that , but then again, Harbaugh is brilliant, and i am just a nutty fan.
STs? well the punt return should have been called back. Akers 63 yarder? Are you kidding me? Remainder of STs was like last yr...terrific. Funny thing tho, and that is, last yr between Andy Lee and ST we had a huge differential in field position. Without Ginn, we did not. Look at the tape again, and you will note GB DID outposition us in field position. Later in the game we started a bunch of series inside the 20, and some were closer to the 10 yd line. Other than that, a perfect game plan and perfect game. Let's see....alex's QB rating was....unhh. 126. I guess that pretty well summarizes the entire team ..and game.
Kinda disagree with you on the first one. Rodgers is in my opinion the best QB in the leagure right now. He is going to make plays sometimes even when you do everything right. Yes, you need to get pressure on Rodgers, but you can't do it all game by sending extra people.
That O only scored 2 TDs the entire game. The first was advanced to the 1 because of a BS PI call in the endzone and the second was a blown coverage by Goldson. He had seen Cobb make so many short yardage receptions that he cheated up to take Cobb out of the play and vacated his responsibility in the endzone. Terrell Brown turned the zone over to Goldson not knowing Goldson wasn't there anymore.
Thats not Fangio.
That game was won before the Refs gifted the Pack a TD giving them all kinds of confidense. I had no issue with the 49ers Defensive gameplan.

I just heard an interview with him on 95.7 the game.
He was having throuble speaking. His nose was all jacked up AND he took a blow to the throwt. He was coughing through the whole thing. He's OK, but it was clear he wasn't happy and had been through the ringer.
He also said that he had The Bloodline 1 on 1 most of the day and that Matthews surprised him. He expected a speed rusher but he found that Matthews was much STRONGER than he'd anticipated. He wasn't making an excuse BTW because he was clearly dissappointed in his performance, he was just giving Clay his props (something Clay himself should try). He put him on a level with DeMarcus Ware and Aldon Smith (I liked that last one).

1st Quarter of GB Packers Game 1
{ so far, doing the offense and then refilling on the defense later }
1st and 10 at SF 20 F.Gore left guard to SF 25 for 5 yards (A.Hawk, C.Wilson).
Great job Iupati to push NT out and away.. great job VD on a pull block inside on 2nd level LB. Goodwin a bit lazy on the LE, allowing him to spin move and converge on Gore. Boone with good pull block on WOLB. Ad flattens SOLB Perry, lolz. Big problem was Staley... who blocked well enough at first, but doesn't show much power and doesn't sustain the RE block.
2nd and 5 at SF 25 K.Hunter right end to SF 29 for 4 yards (C.Wilson).
VD showing great leverage to block LE all by himself... Walker good block on SOLB... AD pulls and gets outside DB on the ground... Boone pulls and gets incoming ILB on ground.. Goodwin can't get Raji, but Iupati made sure he kept him away on his pull... what that did though was keep Iupati from getting the S... also the problem was Staley couldn't sustain a block on his RE.
3rd and 1 at SF 29 (Shotgun) A.Smith sacked at SF 24 for -5 yards (C.Matthews).
under 3 second sack... I'd say it was a 2.7? Both rush LBs shoved AD and Staley back into Alex... Iupati, Goodwin and Boone had the DL blocked well, so they were not assigned to help... RB well covered... KW was running a deep double-move route and wasn't looking for the ball... there was Rio running a drag over the middle, but it wasn't as open as it appeared... there was an ILB waiting right behind him. Watching live, I blamed Alex... looking here, I just blame Staley and coaching the most. So much wiser to just keep the RB in to help wherever Mathews lines up.
4th and 6 at SF 24 A.Lee punts 61 yards to GB 15, Center-B.Jennings. R.Cobb MUFFS catch, touched at GB 15, and recovers at GB 15. R.Cobb to GB 19 for 4 yards (T.Brown). PENALTY on SF-C.Spillman, Illegal Block Above the Waist, 10 yards, enforced at GB 19.
_________________________________________________________________________
1st and 10 at GB 29 (Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short left to G.Jennings to GB 39 for 10 yards (P.Willis).
1st and 10 at GB 39 (Shotgun) C.Benson right guard to GB 40 for 1 yard (N.Bowman, Ald.Smith).
2nd and 9 at GB 40 (No Huddle) A.Rodgers sacked at GB 30 for -10 yards (Ald.Smith). PENALTY on SF-Ald.Smith, Unsportsmanlike Conduct, 15 yards, enforced at GB 30.
1st and 10 at GB 45 (Shotgun) C.Benson right guard to GB 46 for 1 yard (N.Bowman).
2nd and 9 at GB 46 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers left end ran ob at SF 46 for 8 yards (C.Culliver).
3rd and 1 at SF 46 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short middle to J.Finley to SF 42 for 4 yards (N.Bowman). San Francisco challenged the pass completion ruling, and the play was Upheld. (Timeout #1.)
1st and 10 at SF 42 (Shotgun) C.Benson right tackle to SF 38 for 4 yards (N.Bowman; P.Willis).
2nd and 6 at SF 38 (Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass incomplete short left to G.Jennings. PENALTY on GB-M.Newhouse, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at SF 38
3rd and 11 at SF 43 (Shotgun) A.Rodgers sacked at 50 for -7 yards (C.Rogers).
4th and 18 at 50 PENALTY on GB-S.Shields, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at 50 - No Play.
4th and 23 at GB 45 T.Masthay punts 55 yards to end zone, Center-B.Goode, Touchback.
_________________________________________________________________________
1st and 10 at SF 20 A.Smith pass short right to M.Crabtree to SF 31 for 11 yards (A.Hawk).
Didn't like the way Iupati lost ground quickly vs the RE.. especially with Staley supposedly helping him.. but it was a quick pass anyway
1st and 10 at SF 31 A.Smith right tackle to SF 36 for 5 yards (C.Wilson).
The NT shoved Goodwin back and blew past his right shoulder to get quick inside pressure. Great job Boone on the LE... the two visible underneath routes were well covered... seems Alex was wise to take off, pending what was downfield
2nd and 5 at SF 36 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass short middle to M.Crabtree to SF 44 for 8 yards (A.Hawk).
good jobs on the SOLB and LE from AD and Boone... Goodwin still getting rocked backwards... good job Iupati on RE... Staley was ugly here trying to handle spin move, but did enough on Mathews.. good read, Alex
1st and 10 at SF 44 K.Hunter right end to GB 48 for 8 yards (A.Hawk).
good block VD on SOLB... good lead block Miller on 2nd level safety... AD chips one ILB before moving to other ILB, but doesn't block him well at all... Boone handles that first ILB easily... good burst downfield from Staley to block, but didn't matter, thanks to AD. Really don't know why AD doesn't drive that ILB into the ground... patty-cake is teh suxxorz
2nd and 2 at GB 48 L.Davis reported in as eligible. A.Smith pass deep left to R.Moss to GB 28 for 20 yards (J.Bush).
big Leonard in as extra TE, beaten around outside shoulder rather easily by SOLB... Probably should have been a holding call on Staley vs Mathews on other edge... great read, Alex.
1st and 10 at GB 28 A.Smith pass short middle to M.Manningham to GB 24 for 4 yards (C.Woodson). FUMBLES (C.Woodson), ball out of bounds at GB 26.
NT made a dent up the middle on Goodwin, but blocks held up enough...
2nd and 8 at GB 26 K.Hunter left end pushed ob at GB 22 for 4 yards (M.Burnett).
Staley did his job seal blocking the RE, but lost too much ground (see:Boone).. Goodwin did just enough to keep NT from scraping across... Miller and mainly Iupati cleared away the WOLB... DWalker was lost and useless, blocks no one... Boone pulls but couldn't get past Staley who got pushed back in his path by that RE.. nice patient cuts from Hunter
3rd and 4 at GB 22 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete short left to D.Walker.
blocks held up well... ball to the outside and high... a better TE makes that catch, but no.. not a perfect pass. Boinked hard off of Walker's outstretched palm/wrist. Shared blame of imperfect pass and subpar TE play
4th and 4 at GB 22 D.Akers 40 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-B.Jennings, Holder-A.Lee.
________________________________________________________________________
1st and 10 at GB 20 (Shotgun) C.Benson up the middle to GB 23 for 3 yards (R.McDonald; N.Bowman).
2nd and 7 at GB 23 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short right to J.Finley to GB 27 for 4 yards (C.Culliver).
3rd and 3 at GB 27 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short middle to R.Cobb to GB 38 for 11 yards (P.Cox).
1st and 10 at GB 38 (No Huddle) A.Rodgers pass short left to G.Jennings pushed ob at GB 44 for 6 yards (T.Brown).
2nd and 4 at GB 44 (No Huddle) A.Rodgers right end ran ob at GB 48 for 4 yards (Ald.Smith).
1st and 10 at GB 48 (No Huddle, Shotgun) C.Benson right end to 50 for 2 yards (R.McDonald).
2nd and 8 at 50 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass incomplete deep left to Ja.Jones (T.Brown).
3rd and 8 at 50 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short middle to G.Jennings to SF 45 for 5 yards (T.Brown).
4th and 3 at SF 45 T.Masthay punts 37 yards to SF 8, Center-B.Goode, fair catch by K.Williams.
________________________________________________________________________
1st and 10 at SF 8 F.Gore right guard to SF 13 for 5 yards (B.Raji; N.Perry).
Walker + VD engage SOLB Perry but get no push and allow him to disengage enough to help make the tackle... Miller blocked out wide on Woodson.. AD angled out the LDE... Boone chipped Raji on way to 2nd level, but should have done a better job mauling the ILB.. Goodwin couldn't keep Raji away from Gore the rest of the way...
2nd and 5 at SF 13 F.Gore left end to SF 15 for 2 yards (T.Williams).
Miller gets upfield edge to block WILB... Iupati does good job on RE... Staley does alright on Clay M but still lacks power to drive him away... bigger problem was the CB blitz was a very good call right on our run side.

2nd Quarter of GB Packers Game 1
3rd and 3 at SF 15 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete short middle to K.Williams. PENALTY on GB-J.Bush, Defensive Pass Interference, 7 yards, enforced at SF 15 - No Play.
Blocks held up well on 4 man rush, but Raji was violently and gradually collapsing inner pocket vs Boone, but he was doing alright.. good and clear call on the P.I. (can see some people suggest that VD was "open" deep, but there was a safety spying him, and looks like VD was a clear-out guy anyway
1st and 10 at SF 22 L.Davis and D.Kilgore reported in as eligible. F.Gore right end to SF 25 for 3 yards (D.Smith).
Leonard D goes 2nd level but missed LB... AD gets late surge on his LDE... Boone did his job angling out the NT... Iupati pulls to clear a lane, as does Miller... neither getting especially solid blocks.. Kilgore not too adept at sealing a rush lane, but did enough to keep SOLB away. ILB and S closed quickly. Gore looking quick and shifty.
2nd and 7 at SF 25 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete deep right to D.Walker [C.Matthews]. PENALTY on GB-C.Matthews, Roughing the Passer, 15 yards, enforced at SF 25 - No Play.
weakside overload... Staley picks up blitz S, but Mathews flies around edge completely free... Nice job Alex to roll out right...terrible job Goodwin missing blitz ILB... Walker interfered with, but still a lumbering, brick-handed turd out there. LOL @ Alex talking ish with Clay Mathews!
1st and 10 at SF 40 F.Gore right end to 50 for 10 yards (C.Wilson; A.Hawk).
weak lead block Miller on DB, but it still does enough to help... very effective Boone pull block who drives ILB back lots... AD gets important block on SOLB... Goodwin slow to 2nd level and can't get his LB
1st and 10 at 50 A.Smith pass short right to V.Davis pushed ob at GB 40 for 10 yards (C.Woodson).
blocks were fine... key blitz pickups outside by both Miller and Gore here on this quick throw
1st and 10 at GB 40 W.Tukuafu reported in as eligible. A.Smith pass short left to M.Crabtree pushed ob at GB 31 for 9 yards (T.Williams).
Goodwin already sucking off the snap.. letting NT get penetration over outside shoulder, but the throw was super quick.. all else fine
2nd and 1 at GB 31 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass short middle to M.Crabtree to GB 15 for 16 yards (N.Perry).
Raji getting upfield, but tripped as he got sandwiched by Iupati.. who was blocking in on the RDE inside stunt. All else was fine here
1st and 10 at GB 15 L.Davis and W.Tukuafu reported in as eligible. K.Hunter right end to GB 14 for 1 yard (N.Perry).
misdirection, but SOLB got upfield quickly and didn't bite... good job Hunter to get anything here
2nd and 9 at GB 14 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass short middle to R.Moss for 14 yards, TOUCHDOWN. 9 0
fine job Staley of keeping ROLB away... all blocks were solid on this 2.5 second throw.. looks like the young safety Burnett locked into Walker's route a moment too long and needed to switch off on Moss a moment sooner..
D.Akers extra point is GOOD, Center-B.Jennings, Holder-A.Lee.

1st and 10 at GB 20 (Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass deep left to J.Nelson to GB 48 for 28 yards (T.Brown).
1st and 10 at GB 48 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short left to R.Cobb to SF 46 for 6 yards (T.Brown, N.Bowman).
2nd and 4 at SF 46 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short right to R.Cobb to SF 43 for 3 yards (N.Bowman).
3rd and 1 at SF 43 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short middle to R.Cobb to SF 38 for 5 yards (D.Goldson).
1st and 10 at SF 38 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass incomplete deep right to Ja.Jones. PENALTY on SF-Ald.Smith, Defensive Offside, 5 yards, enforced at SF 38 - No Play.
1st and 5 at SF 33 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short middle to Ja.Jones to SF 33 for no gain (D.Goldson, C.Culliver). PENALTY on GB-T.Lang, Illegal Use of Hands, 10 yards, enforced at SF 33 - No Play.
1st and 15 at SF 43 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass incomplete short right to J.Finley.
2nd and 15 at SF 43 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short middle to J.Nelson to SF 30 for 13 yards (T.Brown).
3rd and 2 at SF 30 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass deep right to Ja.Jones to SF 2 for 28 yards (C.Culliver). PENALTY on GB-Ja.Jones, Offensive Pass Interference, 10 yards, enforced at SF 30 - No Play.
3rd and 12 at SF 40 (Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short right to J.Finley to SF 24 for 16 yards (C.Rogers).
1st and 10 at SF 24 (No Huddle) C.Benson right end to SF 23 for 1 yard (P.Willis).
2nd and 9 at SF 23 (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short right to R.Cobb to SF 11 for 12 yards (P.Cox).

1st and 1 at SF 1 (Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short right to J.Finley for 1 yard, TOUCHDOWN. 10 6
M.Crosby extra point is GOOD, Center-B.Goode, Holder-T.Masthay.
__________________________________________________________________________
1st and 10 at SF 20 A.Smith pass short right to M.Manningham pushed ob at SF 31 for 11 yards (T.Williams).
Rough blocking for Staley, but he did just enough to allow Alex to make his throw... how Clay M has the power to drive Staley back like that? I don't understand... all about lower leverage, I get.. but c'mon, Joe. AD did well on the LE, but Goodwin was quickly losing ground vs NT... amazing that Alex didn't get that blocked by NT... Boone was free zoning, would have preferred he help Goodwin in hindsight
1st and 10 at SF 31 W.Tukuafu reported in as eligible. A.Smith pass short middle to R.Moss to SF 42 for 11 yards (M.Burnett).
blocks were solid enough, but again... Goodwin losing ground on NT quickly... can't anchor vs the power well. we are talking very quick passes that pretty much have to be.
1st and 10 at SF 42 F.Gore left tackle to SF 47 for 5 yards (N.Perry).
Staley allowed Clay's momentum to keep him away from run... Iupati and to lesser degree Goodwin illegally moved Raji out of rush lane.. Boone cleared out the only other DL... decent Miller block on ILB, but he should have applied more power to level him... AD didn't at all sustain block on the tackling SOLB Perry... lazy
2nd and 5 at SF 47 A.Smith pass incomplete short middle to V.Davis.
much better anchor from Staley on Clay here... Iupati stoned Raji's momentum well... no problems Boone on only other DL with free and no help from Goodwin.. solid from AD on SOLB as well..
* if anyone has that gamefilm 22 or whatever that is, can you check this pass play? 2:50 left in the 2nd. Love to see exactly where the ball location is and why VD couldn't stick an arm out for it. *
3rd and 5 at SF 47 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete short right to V.Davis. PENALTY on GB-C.Woodson, Defensive Holding, 5 yards, enforced at SF 47 - No Play.
good job of rolling far away from the extreme outside rushes... VD definitely held a little here, good call. Alex looking confident and enjoying himself as he motions for first down after penalty
1st and 10 at GB 48 F.Gore left tackle to GB 45 for 3 yards (D.Smith, A.Hawk).
Walker shifted and took Goodwin's NT so that Goodwin could get LB block.. but he didn't. He turned to? block the NT and didn't anyway? leaving the LB free? Miller lead blocks 1 ILB, but the free one makes tackle. Either Walker was supposed to go 2nd level for an ILB and got hung up on the NT, or Goodwin failed to move on to block ILB. Looks to me like Walker had it right all along.
2nd and 7 at GB 45 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass short left to M.Manningham to GB 34 for 11 yards (J.Bush).
blocks were fine on this quick curl route pass... have to admit, Staley was a split-second early... should have been a false-start.. Mathews is such an annoying lil tool.
1st and 10 at GB 34 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete short left to D.Walker.
good job by strongside OL to pick up heavy blitz.. especially Boone getting the right guy.. a blitz DB. quick pass anyway... Walker can't catch anything today... just terrible.
2nd and 10 at GB 34 A.Smith pass short middle to M.Crabtree to GB 25 for 9 yards (A.Hawk, M.Burnett).
good job of blocking by all.. Staley anchors Mathews much better this time
Timeout #2 by SF at 01:05.
3rd and 1 at GB 25 W.Tukuafu and L.Davis reported in as eligible. F.Gore right tackle to GB 25 for no gain (C.Woodson; A.Hawk).
Goodwin loses ground on this short situational run... AD falls forward, accomplishing nothing... FB Tuku gets a hit on SOLB, but doesn't move him whatsoever.. Iupati pulls but an ILB comes right in behind him... Boone drives a low DT down into ground.. AD was supposed to chip the DL on his way to go 2nd level for the ILB, but since he fell on his face right away, it allowed the ILB to come right through behind Iupati's pull... was also a great job by Woodson to slice in from outside. This play may as well have been on the goalline.. GB so knew what was coming.

3rd and 8 at GB 22 (Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass incomplete short left.
4th and 8 at GB 22 T.Masthay punts 60 yards to SF 18, Center-B.Goode. K.Williams to SF 38 for 20 yards (R.Francois).

1st and 10 at SF 38 (Shotgun) C.Kaepernick left tackle to GB 45 for 17 yards (S.Shields).
designed QB run up the middle after we spread the D out... Gore and Boone get downfield in a hurry.. don't really get hold of anyone.. 3 man rush with the 2 standing "DEs" rushing wide arcs, so only Goodwin needs to wall off the "NT" and does. Iupati essentially looks for someone close to block, but nope, nothing there, haha. good block from KW on a S downfield, but VD was pretty lazy on a DB block. too bad Frank didn't get to his block earlier.. maybe Ck7 gets more w/o having to slide down.
Timeout #3 by SF at 00:11.
1st and 10 at GB 45 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete short right to M.Crabtree.
pass was so high, I have to think Alex was just throwing it away. Seems Alex could have given Crabtree a chance with a lower thrown ball at the sideline..
2nd and 10 at GB 45 (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete short right to M.Crabtree.
pretty much the same thing as last play, though this pass was a little lower... really don't get those two passes.. VD stayed in to block.. Had Alex gone deep, it looked like 1-on-1, but there would have been no time left on the clock had it been anything less than a TD.
3rd and 10 at GB 45 D.Akers 63 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-B.Jennings, Holder-A.Lee.

That 92 yds TD drive was when we start to win this game on offense.

#1 Thought?
The San Francisco defense is freaking filthy...they held arguably the best defense in NFL history to 15 points...that is ridiculous. This team now has the best defense in the NFL, officially. There is no longer any argument.

I didn't think they could do it either as good as I think they are going into the game. That's why I gave the Packers 21 pts. They ended up scoring only 15 with the other one on ST

The 49ers run game is like the Packers or Saints passing game, an unbelievably creative and effective offensive force which is at the top in the league and very difficult to stop.
Now the niners have a much improved passing attack to go with it, uh ohh.. It's like when Happy Gilmore learned how to putt.
