Dixon has played extensively in the last two preseason games at fullback, halfback and special teams. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Dixon's performance in Houston was the best he has ever seen him play.
I swear this forum has gone to s**ts since we switched this layout...you can't quote stuff properly and edit properly, everything is a mess. Hopefully we switch back or to something more better.

but anyway...there you go about the Houston game...doesn't guarantee that Dixon gets a spot, but for those who say he hasn't done s**t or is uselss..if you didn't want to take my word for....if you didn't want to take the time to watch the video footage yourself, while still taking time to repeat the same bs...well here is his offensive coach saying how well he played.

mind you Dixon had some great preseason games when he first came to this team.
A 2010 sixth-round draft pick from Mississippi State, Dixon spent all offseason at the 49ers' facility, working hard for precisely the situation that surfaced in Saturday's game at Houston.

Summoned for a fourth-and-one carry,Dixon found enough room for a 2-yard gain on the busted play. How did he find it?

"They kind of had us outnumbered there," offensive coordinator Greg Roman said of the Texans. "Anthony basically was his own blocker to get us that first down."

Said Dixon: "I was pushing my feet. I've got to give credit to the countless hours of sled pushes during the summer. Shout out to the sled pushing."
Dixon on the run to preserve his roster spot

you would think he would be one of the first cuts if they know for sure he won't make the team....or at least you hope so, so that he can have more time to find a spot on any other team....but i have a feeling the team will take a Shawnte Spencer approach and hold on to him till the final cuts, just in case some other RB gets injured...or worse hold on to him until Jacobs makes it back (if it goes in to the season) then cut him.
Dixon tried to fight for earn roster spot? No way!! We should cut him our team.. Dixon did not panned out as a lead blocker, or a short yardage specialist... He is sux and nothing tough his plays! Byee byee Dixon!! Byee byee Dixon...

Why would we draft another RB and bring one in through FA if Dixon was holding the spot down?

competition?....harbs loves to do that...and it seems to have worked....dixon has looked his best. played various positions...converted many 1st downs, by running and catching. converted a 4th down play. and he looks like one of our best backs regarding pass protection....and of course he has continued his good special teams play.....so again if it doesn't work out here, he would have some good game tape to show other teams that would want a rb/fb that can do all those things.

preseason games dont count and the competition argument is lame.....you dont burn high picks to get low round guys to "try harder".

preseason games might not count for you coach jeff, but they do for some other coaches...besides dixon was also given credit for his offseason work and this year's trainning camp, not "just preseason".....james was brought in for competition for hunter, as well as just to add an explosive weapon to our offense. jacobs and cart were brought in for dixon...and just for the overall benefit for the team...if it were not for competition, wouldn't you think they would have just cut dixon after those signings, coach?

If every RB is healthy going into game 1 Dixon is the odd man out.
