GB will be somewhat tricky, but Detroit? isnt that a home game and we beat them in their dome?
I hate when a writer will mention the additions on offense but then on one of the NFL's premier defenses they forget to add "and returning all 11 players"

i hope we win a lot more than that game but i dont think GB will be that much of a challenge like everyone is making them out to be. rodgers all they got. get in his head and scare him a little bit and i think the rest of it will take care of itself. our defense is so fast its gonna be a nightmare for him behind that crappy O-line
Coach Mike McCarthy suggested that Marshall Newhouse is entrenched as the starting left tackle entering training camp. "Marshall is at that point in his career where the people in the building have a lot more confidence in him than maybe the people outside," said McCarthy, praising Newhouse's athletic ability. "I think Marshall is going to be a good player for us. He made a huge jump last year and he's made another jump so far this year." Last year's first-rounder, Derek Sherrod (broken leg), will likely start camp on the PUP list.

I can see us losing at GB, but NO WAY we lose to Detroit at home. I know saying 'theres no way' is usually not a good prediction, but I just can't see how the Lions would beat us at our house on primetime for our home opener especially after what happened last year.

Look at the fudge packers schedule. They play us then the bears then they have to go on the road to seattle. Last year teams struggled after playing us. So that softens em up for the bears. Then we all know there no gurantees at seattle. They could loose all 3 of those games.

the detroit game will matter more to the lions than us

Oh trust me, Harbaugh will find a way to make that game mean more to OUR boys than the stupid Lions.

I dont understand how he can make a prediction that we're going 0-2, then backtrack and say that it's also possible we might go 1-1 instead.
brb "There's a chance they might lose, but there's also a chance they might win." Genius.

According to my calculations, the best-case scenario is 2-0, and the worst-case scenario is 0-2. Somebody hand me my Nobel Prize.

Sorry, but this is just bull. Niners have a lot of young talent and added Moss for a bit of seasoning. Not sure if the rest of the "ageing" signings will even be on the roster come game 1. It's the core of last year's team who is going to show the rest of the NFC the way.

There won't be snow or frigid temperatures in GBay. This doesn't give them an advantage. They will not be able to game plan for the new Niner team since nobody will have seen us play. They primarily have only last year to go on as far as game planning.
We win a close one.
We're at home against Lions and that favors us. The press is going to have a field day with "Handshakegate" or whatever they call it. JH will get our guys pumped up from the trash talking Lions. He'll unleash a high powered offensive plan that will have the pundits jumping on the bandwagon.

Starting the season 2-0 is the best case scenario, idiot. (not the op, but the person who wrote the article)
The Packers are the favorites and should win that game. But don't count the 49ers out.
the Lions are coming to our place and they have to deal with the elements of candlestick. Not an easy task for the kittens.
