As I said, 49ers coaches and fellow players. have gone out of their way to say he has a great work ethic. Cmon dude

i dont doubt his work ethic

but i dont like how hes missing all this TC time

imo that hurts not just himself but the whole passing offense

look at every year i doubt its a concidense he does better towards the end of the year than the beggning and im talking much better

I really don't think he's gonna miss much time because of the ankle. Almost everyone gets something during camp that they have to deal with. Its a part of football. Crabtree missing anything will be heavily scrutinized because he's never played in the preseason, but as training camp progresses I am sure he will not be the only player that sits out a practice for an ankle, shoulder, knee etc.

I second this
Trade him to the cowbos, the team is keeping his trade value up by saying he has a great work ethic, why would you bring down the value more on a player that has a low value to begin with. Trade him for a 6th round pick or better.

Your intellect is oozing from this post
LOL@Crabtree. People defending him need to stop. Moss, Manningham, and Williams are all pushing hard for a starting spot. Crabtree doesnt seem like the competitive type. He has been handed everything from day 1.

Looks more and more like a couple people will be changing their names, and i wont be one of them. You know who you are.

He's also never had talent like this opposite him! With the possibility of having Moss, Davis, Manningham, James, somewhere on the field, distracting defenses--more talent has a tendency to create more opportunities to get the ball, not fewer (see 49ers, 1998). We talk about how there are many things different for Alex Smith this year that should give us reason to be optimistic about his performance (and I like Alex), but so many of those things also apply to Crabs. No reason at all to count him out so soon.

Im so sick of the "he never had anyone on the other side" arguement. Great WR's dont need another great WR opposite them to succeed. Its the opposite. Great WR's allow those opposite of them to succeed. Not to mention he has had VD here his entire career. Its really a ridiculous argument.
Crabs hurt again. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Name one. Please. I beg of you.

Having a great TE is not a replacement for having 2 effective starting WRs. IF you knew football you wouldnt have to be explained this.

Larry Fitzgerald, Art Monk, Tim Brown, Issac Bruce, Steve Largent...Shall i continue? Since you know football so much better than the rest of us and i know nothing i shouldnt have to name any.

Crabtree doesn't have to be Larry Fitzgerald to be a WR worth having on this team. Would it be great if he was? Of course. But he's not and in no way does that mean he's a bum and should be out in the street. I don't understand how having more opportunities this year because of increased talent on the team reflects poorly on him.

This team is one season removed from a ridiculous decade of futility. Very nearly every offensive player on this team (minus Gore and V. Davis) is finally getting a chance to stretch their legs after the offensive bumbling under Singletary and Raye et al. Given the passing offense we ran last season, nearly fewest attempts, only 18 TD passes between Smith and Akers (!!), I don't think 72 catches and 4 TDs is nothing. So Crabs hasn't lit the entire world on fire in his three seasons so far (remind you of anyone?) that doesn't mean he can't be an important and valuable contributor to this team!

So much hostility...

never said he had to be any of those guys. i was commenting to dirtyp who seems to believe every wr to ever play and succeed needs a guy opposite of him thats a star. Its simply not true, and an excuse as to why Crabtrees #'s have been nothing more than average for a starting WR in this league. Will he benefit? of course he will if still starting. That does not magically make him a beter WR however. He is what he is.

LOL ARE YOU f**kING KIDDING ME!!?????? Those are the receivers you chose for your examples???? Art Monk had 2 other hall of fame caliber receivers on his team, Isaac Bruce had Torry Holt, who is a 1st ballot HOF, and Larry Fitz had 4 time probowler Boldin for the majority of his career
