Ted Ginn Jr. could be in danger of being cut.

I agree. I think we may end up keeping 6 WRs because they are all part of the best 53. Maybe we go lean on LB/S position again. Right now, the only guy on the WR corp that I think may get cut are:

Mario Manningham and Ted Ginn Jr.

But I think both guys will make the roster.

LOL @ thinking Manningham may get cut.

M. williams
jones
reggie smith.

I seriously doubt we need 5 safties on this team this year.
I am sorry to get off topic but as long as you brought that up, that safety spot worries me. cj and a rookie for a backup, am i being to hysterical?

yah the safety spot is extremely thin behind the starters. I was hoping they would have brought in a vet back up.

Let us be logical. Players are cut at this point in time due to thier work they do or do not do in the off season, otas, training camp etc. What has kyle williams done or not done to make you think he will be cut. If the season started tomorrow, the kid we drafted would be cut based upon off season work and how they have done so far in otas but we all know that will not happen. You have read the stories and have heard how much kyle has worked in the off season and is probably third or at the very least 4th on the depth chart. he has done nothing to warrant being cut and you all know it. we know why some want him cut but that is just wishfull thinking about something that is long in the past and is not a contributing factor right now as we move forward. so tell me, what has he done to warrant being cut right now? the answer is nothing and you all know it.... Now back to ginn, unless they have someone they know can return punts and kicks he stays but if someone like kyle or cox or one of the kids we drafted shows they can do the job to the coaches in camp and pre season and if the kid we picked at number one gets better,, than ginn could be gone

What has he done to be cut? The following WRs WILL BE ahead of him on the depth chart:

Moss
Crabtree
Manningham

Then we have a 1st round WR who is going to make the squad by default. That's 4 guys who will be there, period. It comes down to the 5th receiver (doubt we'll keep 6) and Ginn's roll as a top return man trumps Kyle's roll as a 4th (at best), maybe 5th WR.

Not being better, or more valuable, than the other guys is what he's done to be cut.

As for the offseason strides he's apparently been making, we've heard things like this before with countless other players who went on to do nothing when it counts.

I recently re-watched the saints game and even in that game he made questionable catches in the punt game. He was just lucky he didnt turn it over, he just has bad judgement and is overly aggressive when handling punts.
It is reasonable to think Ginn's spot is in doubt. He is a one trick pony as a KR/PR and he has had injuries. Having said that, there is no one better at KR/PR on this roster then him. If a younger player can come close to his return game skills, and also maintains their value as a CB or WR, that spells trouble for Ginn.

The question is: what does the staff value more, flexibility and depth, or keeping an elite KR while missing out on younger talent?

it was in the wierd clothes thread. someone brought up a thong and heels, she said heels makes her back hurt, i felt bad for her, you arrived with your lotion story and of course predictability ensued and things went downhill after that

I understand and i know things can change on a dime in a couple of months. i tend to live in the world of day to day and that is why i always say" as of now" and "if the season began tomorrow".I have said i have no problem is williams gets cut cuz other guys ahead of him are better. right now that is not the case but i do know where you are coming from in your comments. You are a bit more forward thinking than me

thanks dude.

I try to keep in loose around here, especially in the off season. Im just looking forward to the season, right now is the worst time of year sports wise for me. No football, no basketball and nothing but baseball which is practically unwatchable for me.

agree. i used to be a huge old school cardinal baseball fan but when they did that strike, i tuned out and never tuned back in. Thank god for metv here in iowa with old reruns of lost in space and adam 12
I think Ted Ginn will be our 6th reciever, after kyle williams. If ONE of them had to be cut, it would be tough, but I'd cut ginn probably. I know williams f**ked us over, but I saw flashes of him in the return game when ginn was injured too. Plus williams is WAY better as a reciever, and what im hearing from training camp, is our most in-shape reciever and is making some corners look silly. Plus he's a smaller paycheck and younger too!
If Ginn gets cut i rather have LaMichael James returning kicks...........Kyle Williams is dead to me

f*ck him!!!!
