I think they are finally resembling a professional team that practiced and played like a professional team of the 80's and 90's.

The 49ers open "organized team activities" on Tuesday. And for the first time this offseason veteran players are allowed to wear helmets. There can also be offense-vs.-defense situations, as long as there is no "live contact." This is the first year of the new rules governing offseason workouts, as spelled out in the collective bargaining agreement. Presumptive starting center Jonathan Goodwin joined his teammates at 49ers football school on Monday, and he will take part in the beginning of OTAs on Tuesday, 49ers.com reports. The only projected starter who is not expected to be in attendance is safety Dashon Goldson, who has yet to sign his tender as the team's franchise player.
The 49ers' practice Tuesday is closed to the media. The two-hour practice Wednesday, which begins at 12:30 p.m., is scheduled to be open to the media.

Of all the reasons a young player would miss OTA time, school is a very good reason.
