who was that RB we drafted a few years back and he just retired....stating he was ready to do other things with his life. That was not a terrible thing, but I just thought I would mention him because he is not one of the obvious answers

Lawrence Philips for sure - dude was a scumbag AND he totally sucked AND every team in the league knew he was garbage. It was odd that the 49ers got desperate enough to be the last team he played for.
Doesn't really matter with former players that produced, but are currently idiots in the media. They only embarrass themselves, not the 49ers.
