Post-Draft 53 Man Roster

I would keep this 53 man

QB- Alex Smith, Josh Johnson, Colin Kaepernick
RB- Frank Gore, Kendall Hunter, LaMichael James and Rock Cartwright
FB- Bruce Miller
WR- Michael Crabtree, Randy Moss, Mario Manningham, Ted Ginn Jr. and A.J. Jenkins
TE- Vernon Davis, Delanie Walker and Nate Byham
C- Jonathan Goodwin and Jason Slowey
OG- Mike Iupati, Daniel Kilgore, Joe Looney and Mike Person
OT- Joe Staley, Anthony Davis and Alex Boone

DE- Justin Smith, Ray McDonald, Will Tukuafu and Demarcus Dobbs
NT- Isaac Sopoaga and Ricky Jean Francois
OLB- Aldon Smith, Ahmad Brooks, Parys Haralson, Darius Fleming and Cam Johnson
ILB- Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman, Larry Grant and Tavares Gooden
CB- Carlos Rogers, Tarell Brown, Chris Culliver, Perrish Cox and Tramaine Brock
S- Dashon Goldson, Donte Whitner, C.J. Spillman, Trenton Robinson and Colin Jones

K- David Akers
P- Andy Lee
LS- Brian Jennings

Notable Cuts- Kyle Williams, Anthony Dixon and Brandon Jacobs

Inactive Gameday- QB Kaepernick, C Slowey, OG Person, DE Dobbs, OLB Johnson, CB Brock and S Robinson

Core ST unit- RB Cartwright, TE Byham, DE Tukuafu, OLB Fleming, ILB Grant, ILB Gooden, CB Cox, S Spillman, S Jones, the last would be a tough call, I would probably go with either Jenkins or Walker, or a OG like Looney

Edit- Forgot Practice Squad, I would keep these 8, WR Owusu, RB Hampton, OG Netter, TE Reuland, C Beeler, S Nelms, DE Masifilo and CB Bademosi

I could possibly see keeping Jacobs and/or Kyle Williams over Cartright or a ninth o-lineman who we my be able to sneak on to the PS. But other than those caveats I'd say this is on the money.
With all the draft pick and Perrish Cox how many player do they have that can return kicks ? i think if any of them show anything good during per season Ted Ginn is gone. Yes he is the best they have but given time to play some of the young guy could be very good at returning kicks and punts plus they would help in other areas if there needed Ted Ginn is not a very good WR i would rather have Kyle william at WR then Ginn.

If they had any extra money it would be nice to see some go to your backyard deck at your home AB for all the good work you do here

That would work for our back deck like area, needs revamping, lol. Falling apart.

I honestly don't even see him making the roster. Tolzien has more upside IMO.

I disagree, Harbaugh knows Johnson, so I think he has an upper hand on the 3rd QB spot, if not 2nd QB spot.
Offense - 26
QB (3): A. Smith, C. Kaepernick, S. Tolzien
RB (4): F. Gore, L. James, K. Hunter, B. Jacobs
FB (1): B. Miller
WR (6): R. Moss, M. Crabtree, M. Manningham, A. Jenkins, K. Williams, T. Ginn Jr.
TE (3): V. Davis, D. Walker, N. Byham
C (2): J. Goodwinn, J. Slowey
OG (3): M. Iupati, D. Kilgore, J. Looney
OT (4): J. Staley, A. Davis, A. Boone, M. Person

Defense - 24
DE (4) - J. Smith, R. McDonald, W. Tukuafu, D. Dobbs
NT (2) - I. Sopoaga, R. Jean-Francois
OLB (4) - A. Smith, A. Brooks, P. Haralson, D. Fleming, C. Johnson
ILB (4) - P. Willis, N. Bowman, L. Grant, T. Gooden
CB (5) - C. Rogers, T. Brown, C. Culliver, P. Cox, T. Brock,
S (4) - D. Goldson, D. Whitner, C. Spillman, T. Robinson

Special Teams - 3
K (1) - David Akers
P (1) - Andy Lee
LS (1) - Brian Jennings

Notable Cuts

Rock Cartwright- No value outside of ST and we keep Gooden, Flemming, and Cam Johnson who provide both ST and valuable backup ability. OLB is one of the most important depth positions because a well rested pass rush is a much more effective pass rush

Josh Johnson (I think Tolzien will prove too good in preseason to cut for a young guy and Kaepernick will not prove solid enough as the future franchise but we stay committed to his development, thus making Josh Johnson the odd man out as he doesn't wow enough for a player in his 5th NFL seasn)

I think Owusu is possibility for IR, I think we will give him a chance to win a roster spot, same with Konrad Reuland, and the other Stanford players. I can see Johnson Bademosi having a shot to beat out Cox or Brock for a CB spot. I see Masifilo on PS, I see Beeler on PS if he doesn't make the roster.

If Rock is gone gotta add Colin Jones, he played lights out on STs last season.

If a 6th WR is kept, I hope it's Owusu, if healthy.

i like this except that we will keep less interior lineman (guard or center) and keep another WR like Williams.
Rock was insurance for Ginn not resigning. We now have Ginn back, as well as James and Jenkins that can return kicks. I don't see Cartwright's value anymore. He is almost certainly gone IMO. Jacobs is even more needed now that we've added a ton of speed, and no size

99% agree. The only thing I disagree with out of all of this, including the PS, is that I am going to predict that Trenton Robinson doesn't make the team. I think he'll pull a Ronald Johnson and do so poorly that he's cut, and replacing him would be Brandon Jacobs. Also think Cartwright may not make it. If he doesn't either, he will be replaced by a faster ST guy and someone with actual upside (Rock has none), in Owusu or Bademosi.

I can see that happening, I'm rooting for all our draftees to make the roster, I also would love to see another 2 UDFAs make the team like 2011(Dobbs and Williams). I like Owusu a lot, I hated seeing him having the concussion issues, I even saw the one that knocked him out last year on TV. Massive hit.

Now that I have the rules right, I see Tolzien making the PS if not 53 man, also Person if cut, I hope he isnt, but if so he is a PS candidate.

agreed, not a chance in hell. Can we put Tolzien on our PS this year?
