Well, time to step up Mr. Jenkins. No Excuses!
Ok.....and here we go (joker voice)
AJ, my man, this is a pretty good time to show us why we picked you last yr and not only that, WHERE we picked you in the draft. This is your time, young man, to show us what you got. I'm thinking you are going to pleasantly surprise a bunch of people, but not jH or trent.
Really hoping for some good news from either AJ, Patton or Lockette, desperately need one of them to step up.

The grind is real!

Organized team activities started Tuesday for the 49ers, but wide receiver A.J. Jenkins already has been hard at work this offseason, determined to rebound from a "humbling" rookie season.

Jenkins dismissed feeling any pressure as he enters his second season, noting simply: "Pressure for what? It's football."

Last season's first-round draft pick, Jenkins has focused this offseason on adding muscle and knowledge.

He's bulked up to 196 pounds, four pounds more than last season's listed weight. "If I get to 200 (pounds), I'll be good to go," Jenkins said while looking at his larger biceps and wearing a sleeveless shirt.

Jenkins lived with quarterback Colin Kaepernick and fellow receiver Ricardo Lockette for two months in downtown Atlanta while they honed their skills at a nearby training facility.

Upon reporting to the 49ers' offseason program, Jenkins and Lockette have been mentored by veteran receiver Anquan Boldin, who's been schooling them on route running after practice.

"He's a real good vet, a good route runner and has real confidence in his ability," Jenkins said. "He's got the knowledge down."

While Boldin led the Baltimore Ravens over the 49ers in last season's Super Bowl, Jenkins watched from the sideline, as was his customary spot throughout a rookie season in which he had no receptions and dropped the only pass thrown to him.

"It was very humbling," Jenkins said of last season.

"From being the top dog on campus to not playing at all, it teaches you a lot about the game and you try learning from the sidelines and other players."I need to make sure it doesn't happen again this year."
