Harbs is a great coach and has everything a head coach should have to lead a team to be great year in and year out. He was an NFL QB as well and i got to thinking that with that said was it Harbs who is to take the credit for Alex's recent success, or was it truly Alex with a bit of help from Harbs becoming the QB that we thought we drafted with our #1 pick? I would love to see CK have Harbs full confidence in him as a starter and see what he could do?

Regular Season=More confidence, QB friendly coach and QB friendly system.
Playoffs=Something snapped in the guy and he just went the f**k off. Even in the Giants game he had some beautiful passes to VD, too bad the WR's were s**t, but he really played at a great level, especially against the Saints.

I saw the post buddy , I feel this is a very important subject going forward as a team and a fan base that i would throw it out there outside of that topic. Sorry to annoy you man.

I think Camp Alex helped instill confidence and the offense was set up in a simplified fashion because of the lockout. The running game became more innovative as the season progressed. A big blow to the passing game happened when Josh Morgan went down. Braylon Edwards never contributed and was a non-factor.

I
I totally agree. When people refer to him as a game manager it upsets me for many reasons. Alex Smith is very athletic and can make plays that extend drives. Alex is a guy who enjoys constructive criticism which i believe he had a ton from many of his past coaches but the relationship that Alex and Harb's built really inspired Alex and in a way that really rejuvenated his Career and his belief in himself that he had what it takes to be a top QB in the NFL. I can see the argument of why people call Alex a game Manager, but this year we really saw him take charge and lead the team to 4 , 4th Quarter Comebacks, and so close to a super bowl appearance.
With this said i really believe that Alex found his sould mate in Harb's so to speak and that we will see an even better Smith in the 2012 season with an actual OFFSEASON haha and a healthy competition from CK.

The entire league thinks it was because of JH. The 49ers agree considering the contract they offered.
