I'm curious about why it's only a 2 year deal?
Nice pick up, I wonder how much cap space this will cost us.

Don't see how he imporves us much. You need a "Manning" for proper ball placement to make him look good IMO. I don't think he would help Alex much. He would look completely covered to Alex.

Someone's an optimist.

B/c he is 25.

Hasn't done too much. Has some success, some ok. Gonna see if he can improve his value for a big contract @ 27 Yrs old

I think in two years the salary cap is going way up... He will be looking for a big payday..... Don't know if it's true, just what i've heard

When is the last time Morgan had a 944 yard 9TD season?

Trent Baalke just pulled a rabbit out of his hat again. I love his strategy as our GM!

Because, it's a "prove it to me" contract. Play well and we'll extend you.

i think this signing means no peyton, sadly. manningham's strength is the deep ball, but his route running is pretty scratchy. i think he can be asset, but i don't think he's a signing to further entice 18 to sign.

manningham's market was soft, which could have let the giants back in. did eli want him back? if not, why not? maybe eli did want him back, and if that's the case, peyton is taking food from his brother's plate, because he would have been asked his opinion before we signed him.

maybe i'm reading too much into this, but adding a another deep threat with questionable route running skills to convince peyton, a stickler for precision and possible muscle issues which are more likely to affect his deep ball. i dunno.

So making our wr corps better makes Manning less likely to sign here?

no, but someone like lloyd would have made more sense after seeing his contract with the pats.

the relationship with eli is what makes me a little uncomfortable about signing him (with regards to peyton). if eli wanted him, he could have been back in new york at a manageable price. if eli has misgivings, his brother sure as hell knows about them too. all i was getting at, but probably reading too much.
His stars aren't impressive from 2011 at all but what else was left? Lloyd got snagged by the Pats so that re-union between Brandon and the 49ers can't happen. In theFront Office I trust. Go Niners!!
