What do you think it will cost for Alex and Rogers and Snyder (or others)? That should give us a good idea on a FA WR room.

After seeing Brooks' deal, I have to think similar first year numbers, 4M for Alex, 4M for Rogers, 2M for Snyder, Costanzo will get around 1.2M, Morgan would be 1.5M(2M average).
Rogers will be, if signed, 6M average. Alex 7-8M average.
If those numbers are like that, that takes away 12.7M, plus the 2.6M for draftees(top 3 rounds, around 4.5M total) leaves us 5.932M, add in though extra 390K each for bumping a player off, gives us an additional 1.56M so up to 7.492M, plus the 3.3M for Spencer, and 2.45M for Haralson, puts us up to 13.242M, and that is with those 4 signed, plus Goldson and Brooks, tenders, etc...
I am very happy with the way its going, low cap numbers for 2012, higher when the cap goes up. With that 13M we could easily get a top WR, Mike Wallace would work, we get a #1 plus get rid of the 30 slot, which free up at least 800K in pro-rated bonus.

Thanks my good man, appreciate the kind words.
I was probably the biggest one to come out and say we couldn't keep our guys, but with the structuring it can happen, plus a #1 WR is possible. Whether it happens, we will have to see, it's what I love about free agency, anything can happen. Time to improve and keep the team together. I never doubted the FO, i thought it would be too much money to keep them. I figured Brooks would be 5M first year and not just over 3M, hell of a job by Baalke and Marathe on getting it done.
I will say if we get a tender sheet from another team for grant and he gets the 2nd rd tender, it will be a long wait to see if we keep him or let him go and we take that 2nd rd pick, which would help if we do trade up. It would also help if we do get Wallace. Have 2 2nds with the ability to trade up into rd 1, or stay put, and get 2 solid players.

what if we made a long term deal with Goldson instead and he had a structure where it's low now and then higher when the cap goes up? How much room then?

I would take the 2nd rounder because we could get another quality player at a position of need, or trade up farther in the first for a guy like Janoris Jenkins, depending on what happens.

agreed, plus Grant wont play much. Willis and Bowman aren't coming out for a long period, both will want to play every down.
I would love a guy like Jenkins.

same here! jenkins is my draft crush but my favorite position is CB so im a lil bias on that. But jenkins could be the next best corner to come out and we would no doubt have the best defense in the nfl. So the guy smokes some weed...as long as he uses a vap im fine

Maybe we will get lucky and Rogers will pull a Goldson and overprice himself until all he can get is a crap deal.

Gotcha. Do you think we are willing to pay Grant close to 2 mil to be a backup? He doesn't make too many plays on special teams.
