Here is the note from the new CBA,
It's in Article 13, Section 6, b (i): Bonus shall be pro-rated over the term of the contract "with a maximum proration of five years…" There's an exception, but it doesn't seem to serve to extend that limit.
Here is what Maiocco had to say:
Brooks' future cap figures are $6.65 million in 2013, $7.5 million in 2014, 8.35 million in 2015
, $6.35 million in 2016, and $5.3 million in 2017. Those amounts include roster bonuses in which Brooks receives approximately $50,000 for every game he is active in the regular season, a source said. But that's ok if they are that much because we need the money now more than then because the cap should go up with the new tv deals (according to the experts).
