Moss did so well with titans and vikings, yeah...he'd do nothing here.

He can give Crabtree some tips on egomania and being a diva.
I never said I wanted him over the other options like Garcon, Vincent Jackson, Colston, Wallace, etc. I just said he fits the first 2 criteria and I think the 3rd one(needing to play special teams) is unrealistic. We have enough ST players on this team already. We need a #1 reciever.

That's the problem, you're not likely to get a WR who's more "polished" in the 1st round if you can get guys like Marvin Jones or McNutt in the 2nd or 3rd. The bulk of the depth at WR in this draft is in the middle rounds. You can find a much more ready WR prospect in Rounds 2-4 than an equivalent TE prospect, especially one with the size, knowledge of Harbaugh's offense and intelligence of Fleener.

This. If anything adding Moss might turn Crabtree into a bigger problem child.

Sincal and Phoenix, i suggested cutting craps to enable us to afford Wallace. Wallace and his $9 or $10 mil/yr isn't going to happen with baalke and Harbaugh, but if you cut the overpaid craps , that frees up maybe $4.5 mil/yr , making Wallace potentially available. I never advocated just cutting craps. He's a fair #3 or #4. There are many reasons, but i refer you to el guapo...craps just doesn't do diddly against better CBs... and that isn't the way a #1, nor a #2 plays. You have your opinions and i have mine. Craps with no #1 and we won't play much better than last yr.
Hey, I watched craps beat my HORNS to take away a national title. I was ecstatic when he came here. And then....holdout....can't learn plays...injured, probably due to no TC and holdout. Then injured and no TC ....again. Makes circus catches against weak teams, disappears against Saints and NYG. He is a player you carry as an adjunct to your #1, #2 and probably #3. Am i fed up with his half hearted play for the 9ers? yes. Am i saddened? yup. Is he what i thot he was? Nope. You guys can say anything you want about craps, but since he left college, he hasn't done squat when the collar gets tight. He either doesn't have IT or doesn't want IT. My guess would be his best yr is his contract yr....and gentlemen, that is not what you want as your #1 or #2 WR.
If the kid would put it all on the line, ask Jerry for help on how to be a WR, hey, i might get interested in him again. As for now, craps is just a very average player, way overpaid. I won't predict he gets cut or traded, but it wouldn't surprise me. Just a question, but do you really think if craps continues to not get open, continues to not learn to fake, comeback, stop and go...do you really think Coach H is going to keep him? Would an attitude adjustment help? I have no idea. But he keeps playing like he has , he is going to get his wish to be a Cowboy. He kinda looks like jerry jones material....all hat, no cattle.

Great, so because your left arm is bleeding, you cut off your right arm to make things better? Your logic absolutely sucks. Crabtree is a plenty good wide receiver and its doubtful that they can just replace him out of the blue. You blow a ton of money on Wallace....you're still screwed if you can't get someone competent opposite him. Back to the drawing board.

Unhh, phoenix, you missed the part that i have said many a time. We need a #1 AND a bevy of mid and lower rd WRs, plus every able bodied WR who ends up UDFA. Your analogy to cutting off the left arm to save the right one...well, it eludes me. Maybe i'm just getting too old and beat up...but I know dang well we better have a Wallace type guy (or i would be delighted with Fleener), AND THEN we need a bunch of other WRs in camp , off or on the team, to compete for "who has the best hands, and who can get open" . Man do i wish that were craps...but it isn't.
We agree completely that we need a bunch of WRs, and hopefully a gem or two, but we also have to have a Wallace, Bowe, Vince Jackson, or Welker type .It doesn't have to be one of those guys , but you get the idea. I guess you could have a bunch of #2s and 3s, and no #1, but we HAVE TO have that one guy that when chips are down, 3rd and 4, or RZ, who is money when the ball is thrown. Right now...we don't. Cutting craps was just a suggestion as a way to make signing Wallace possible, as Coach and baalke have basically shown that they are NOT going to bust the bank...er, salary cap.

Here's another pearl. Craps is the 5th highest player on the team at $5mil/yr.( i thot it was $4.5). Does anyone out there really believe he is worth that kind of money, 5th highest paid guy on the team.? Jeez, he's nowhere near worth that and baalke and Coach are very cost conscious. They aren't getting their money's worth....and neither are we. There isn't a chance in the world B & H aren't aware of the fact.

Don't know which Moss would show up, nor would you know from game to game. He is not a high character guy and it wouold surprise me if Harbaugh brought him onto the team. If he does though I will reserve my judgement. He does have incredible talent. As one of several additions he might be fine and could always be cut if he becomes a problem.
Fleener or a top WR would be a good start but they really need Garcon or Mechem to build around. Relying on a rookie would not be wise. Morgan, Mechem, VD, Fleener, Crabtree, Williams and Streeter would be an interesting receiving group. Five WRs and Four TEs to start out camp? Need a couple more WRs, perhaps Moss and another rookie.

We probably had the slowest group of any team last year. We can get speed and seperation from mid round guys easily. A guy like Royal would fit the bill and would have hands to hold onto the ball. We stayed out of the big name games last year and looked great in the process. The sexiest name...Braylon, did absolutly nothing for the team. I would rather get 2-3 mid level guys to compete with the 2 we have on the roster and the 2 we will be draftring. I would also say we will probably draft another 2 next year as well, so the group going into 2013 will be drastically different from last year and this year.
I still dont think we are a sexy loaction for a WR yet. Any defensive player would want to come, and OL player would want to come, and any RB would want to come....WR's wont flock here until we hit the playoffs again and Alex shows back to back good years under Jims system.

Watch the tape on many of our big runs, he's always making the effort to block. I'd also like him to continue the way he's been playing seeing that he's improved every year that he's been here. Your idea for loadng up on UDFA's and late round picks is stupid logice because the odds of getting somebody ready to play down the line in the draft is not likely.

Money's worth? you're kidding me right? This team has no qualms about keeping somebody around even though we haven't gotten our moneys worth. As a matter of fact we keep those people for at least 7 years. Not to bash Alex but the same people wanting Crabs gone are the same people wanting Alex back. As for me I'd like them both back when Crabs has done nothing but improve since he's been here
