Kendall Hunter is great and he's going to get more of the load next year but I guarantee the Niners will draft another back. The back that we need is larger, bruising back who doesn't dance to the hole like AD. I think AD is gonzo. The great thing about backs is that you can get a quality one deep in the draft.
I don't think Frank Gore is done by any means, but it would be smart for the niners to mix it up to keep all of their players fresh and healthy. Plus if those backs go down, we can always bring in another quality RB, it just makes sense.

Hunter should have a great year! I also expect us to maybe bring in a Vet RB?

Why would we bring in a vet RB when we already have Gore?
Regarding the draft, I want us to go WR in the first round, CB in the second round, and RB in the 3rd round.

Agreed. Expect to see a bulked up Kendall next season. One who can take a little more pounding.
That said, Gore played some great football for us in about five or six games. You don't reach the one thousand yard plateau without playing some great games.
That said, I do think his effectiveness has "plateaued." I do believe Frank has some left in the Tank. But he won't be the bruiser he was two or three seasons back. Those days may be gone.

He just isn't big enough to take that pounding. I know MJD is close in size, but I just don't see Kendall getting that many carries.
He is definetely shorter then the average back but his weight falls just about in the middle. I think he is big enough to handle full time duty, and i think following and learning from Gore will mold him into a great RB.

Agreed above. Hunter is nice but he isn't a leading back in this league. The size of CJ without the blazing speed
a rested Gore in the 4th quarter is what beat the Eagles--I agree---Gore in the 4th when the D is tired.

Chris Polk would be good value at the end of r3 and fantastic value if he drops to the 4th.

kendall is too small to carry frank's workload but he is a very talented player and we will use him like the saints use sproles for his whole career

You cant expect kendall to pass block the way Frank did this year, its simply not gonna happen. hes a good change of pace back.

Just caught myself remembering that this was Hunter's rookie year
The young man did good for his rookie year. He didn't play like a rookie. No I think he will be very good. Maybe not in the same style as Frank -- who is? I never underestimate a small guy's ability to make a blitz pickup. He's only 2 inches shorter than Gore. The RB is usually asked to disrupt the blitzer, not to level and kill the guy on every play. We still need another good RB. Gore is on his downside. I used to like Dixon but not sure what happened. He doesn't have that slipperiness for a big guy like he had before.

Get rid of Dixon cuz he f**kin sucks. Gore has something left but I want Hunter to get more touches, not just carries. slip screens, bubble screens, line him up as a receiver so he can get yardage. I want to see so much more out of our offensive personnel.

we need a ground 'n' pound RB. miller is nowhere near that. if we draft a RB i would want it to be doug martin and no else unless its a 7th rd pick
