After watching the Packers loss, the value of receivers making plays for the Niners can't be discounted anymore.
Rodgers looked like a cyborg all year with his receivers going above and beyond to make plays . His receivers s**t the bed...and he looks no better than Alex Smith, whose receivers were in the top 5 in total drops all season. IMAGINE if Alex had the likes of Nelson and Jennings all season...
Clearly Harbaugh knows what we don't and he's confident Alex can compete with almost any QB in this league. Upgrading at the receiver position has to be priority number one this offseason via the draft AND free agency.

Or getting a healthy Josh Morgan back. Losing him was as early as we did sucked.

Our supposed number one receiver (Crabtree) can't even make plays consistently

Very insightful analyses. I had not look at our receiving core that way and I believe you're right. Meantime, let's hope for continued success with what we have for now.

Morgan is pretty good, but we still need to upgrade. Crabtree has his bad days, but usually he's by far our best WR. Morgan is a good possession guy, but we need a big-play threat.

Something overlooked in the 49ers dramatic win was the absence of Saint receiver Lance Moore. Through 14 games he had 52 receptions for 627 yards and 8 touchdowns. Play-making receivers make all the difference.

It is just like Harbaugh's teams at Stanford. Great QB'S, solid RB's, good OL, great TE's and mediocre WR's. There isn't anything that can be done about it right now, but there aren't any academic requirements getting in the way of fixing it next year. It will happen.
Think about this for a second. The Niners are one game away from the Super Bowl after one offseason with Baalke and Harbaugh in charge. How good with this team be when they have all the players they want on this team? We could be looking at another Niners Dynasty.

And getting an offensive line that allows Alex to sit back there all day long like Brees, Manning, Rodgers and Brady. If Alex had more than 2 seconds on every pass and WR's who could get separation and not drop passes, this offense would be unstoppable! Also, positive yards on 1st down are the KEY to our entire playbook.

I think Harbaugh & Balke got the message loud & clear. We need a legit #1 WR, maybe two of them!

none of these f**kers would be starting on another team. Why was Kyle still in a position to f**k up with the game on the line?

Duh. That's why we'll be drafting a WR #1 and going after free agents HARD this offseason.

no separation and don't know how to get open when the play breaks down. They just stand there..
