Rick Reilly always seems to come up with some nice stories but this one was especially sweet. If this doesn't tug on your heartstrings a little bit, you better go see a specialist.

Akers did an interview on KNBR a month ago or so. He came across as a very articulate, thoughtful guy. This article frames that interview very well. Good stuff.

f**k philadelphia. Did they not know a thing about this, or were they too busy yelling and screaming while looking for excuses as per usual? If Reid knew about what Akers was going through, then I lost a whole ton of respect for him.
