yup. if williams doesn't make those mistakes, today we'd be talking about how we escaped with a Super Bowl berth because of our heroic defense, and we'd be arguing about how we can play better on offense against the Pats. but what if Brown and Rogers get interceptions? What if Brown doesn't get replaced by Brock? or what if Goldson, instead of just breaking up the plays, actually made his dangerous selfish gambles worthwhile and came up with the ball? then maybe we'd still be saying how we escaped with a Super Bowl berth because of our heroic defense and arguing about the s**tty offense, no matter what Williams did.

Dashon was trying to pick both those balls off yesterday, not selfishly gamble. watch the replay.

He is part of that starting WR group that created nothing for the majority of the game. Take the fumbles out of the equation and he is still a WR that made no impact for us.

He would have picked them off if he didn't run into the other players. Just bad luck. He's an aggressive player. It's how he gets so many turnovers. And it's why we need him back.

The Safety Franchise tag is one of the lower tags, I say sign Rogers, Smith, Morgan and Franchise Goldson.

Franchising Goldson will cost a measely $6.5 million. Why in the name of God would we NOT do that?! Especially if we cut Spencer and save $3.2 million. It's like we're only paying half the money for franchising him.

Franchise Goldson for a mere 6.5 and sign Rogers to a deal worth 8 mill a year, sign alex to the rumored 8 mill a year for 3 years and we are at $22.5 million in cap usage with anywhere from $10.5 to $20.5 million left to use on Brooks, Morgan, and the rest of our key FAs.

Don't care what anyone says if they let Goldson walk that is f**king stupid.

That seems reasonable to me. I'm not interested in screwing around with his agent, and he's close enough to the point where his speed is liable to drop off the deep end that I don't mind hanging the franchise tag on him.

Ideally, I'd prefer to have him come back on terms favorable to the team based upon his ability to earn a ring. But given his age, I don't mind burning a bridge by franchising him.

Edit: And if forced to choose between Rogers and Goldson, I'd take Rogers. I remember the Daryl Pollard train wreck and will take a good corner over a good safety any day of the week.
