but they should have resulted in INTs for us. they would have been incompletions no matter what Goldson did.

also, Brock replaced Brown after Goldson knocked him out. Brock gave up the last NYG touchdown.

like I said, sign Goldson long-term if possible, tag him if necessary, but if they choose not to do so, oh well. he makes dumb plays sometimes and he made two yesterday that had a lasting effect on the game.

Really being up 14-10 should've been good enough until #10 gags the game away. Dashon goldson was the best playmaker in the secondary and that is a fact

14-10 isn't good enough if you want to go to the Super Bowl, and a lot of players/coaches were responsible for not turning 14-10 into something more. Kyle Williams, of course, and also Dashon Goldson. You could call Goldson knocking out Brown bad luck if you want, but then that is also what Kyle's fumble was. Kyle was trying to make a play, is that a good enough excuse?

Really thats what you're calling his kneed ball? Trying to make a play

the fumble.
which one he fumbled twice?

no he didn't. he had one muffed punt and one fumble. they are both turnovers but they have different names. so when i say "fumble" i mean the "fumble" and not the "muff."

yes he did the drive-killing fumble that he luckily recovered early on in the game

i'm obviously talking about the one he lost.
I know that and he failed to do his job. The secondary's job is to not let the WR catch the ball. A return mans job is to hold onto the ball

Dashon will be the #1 FS hitting the FA market in 2012, apart of me thinks he'll accept a home-town discount (like Rogers), given how sold me might be on this team now (that it has what it takes to get to the NFC Championship). -Remember, this guy ended up coming back anyways, even after whining over twitter about Donte being signed.

I dont think there is any doubt he wants to be here, but I just dont think he would pass up an extra million a year. The guy was drafted in the later rounds, so its not like he's rolling in the doe. I think someone will be willing to pay him somewhere in the Rolle & Wendle range.....

Dashon is the hawk he had more interceptions than anybody

I know what your saying, and i agree, but i think if we had a more finesse coverage type ball hawking safety back there, than we could let goldson roam free and headhunt.

I would just like to see a more technically competent cover safety back there. Goldson sometimes finds himself out of position because he has that headhunter mentality.

I guess hawk wasnt the term i was looking for. We need a technical cover corner, with ball catching skills to complement Goldson.

its not his job to make plays too?

its a double standard dude. i blame Williams for his stupid mistakes, but Goldson made mistakes too. if you can't see that then you're just blindly hating. This team played like crap for the most part and still could have won the game. It came down to a handful of plays, and we didn't make them.

Everyone is blaming KW but seriously, we didn't even need to be at that position to begin with! The offense struggled like f*@k yesterday, not being able to move the ball!

Goldson is back next year one way or another.

And that's that.

yup. if williams doesn't make those mistakes, today we'd be talking about how we escaped with a Super Bowl berth because of our heroic defense, and we'd be arguing about how we can play better on offense against the Pats. but what if Brown and Rogers get interceptions? What if Brown doesn't get replaced by Brock? or what if Goldson, instead of just breaking up the plays, actually made his dangerous selfish gambles worthwhile and came up with the ball? then maybe we'd still be saying how we escaped with a Super Bowl berth because of our heroic defense and arguing about the s**tty offense, no matter what Williams did.

And that's that.

7th Year Pro (FS) Antrel Rolle received a five-year, $37 million contract with $15 million guaranteed.
5th Year Pro (SS) Eric Weddle received a five-year, $40 million contract with $19 million guaranteed last year.
Rookie 5th Overall Pick (SS) Eric Berry received a six-year, $60 million contract with $34 million guaranteed.

5th Year Pro (S) Dashon Goldson should get a Five-Year $40-45 million contract with $20-25 Guaranteed.

CASH HIM OUT

LOL yep he was more interested in his own personal stats than winning.
You can't expect to turn the ball over like Williams did and expect to win.

Offense: put up a 14-10 lead
Defense: only allowed 10 points and was holding the lead in the 4th hence the Giants punting again
Williams/ ST: 2 turnovers by Williams with one out of sheer stupidity

SMDH

I've always believed that football is the ultimate team sport. Heck, even AS and PWilly said that the TEAM lost this game. Granted, the TO came in at critical times but as I stated earlier, WE DIDN'T HAVE TO BE IN THOSE POSITION TO BEGIN WITH!

Wait so you didn't want to have a lead in the 4th quarter? on top of that a lead and you're getting the ball back?
I have been a big hater of Goldson in the past, I want to kid back as of now.
