1. Yes, where was the short or passes, screens, swing, slants, quick outs, quick ins, digs and so on?? Sure their secondary is one of the toughest in the NFL, but certainly not invincible.

2. Horrible play of Rachal indeed, Ngata took full advantage of that.

3. Short week, absolutely. So you pretty much spend a full day on the plane, getting things together and checking in to a hotel, there goes one day. Keep in mind you gotta find rest for these guys, off to practice the next day. Next day film session and practice, again little to no rest. All this I'm assuming, but we certainly had the odds against us no doubt.

5. I think older Harbaugh took advantage on some key injuries early and just let his defense loose on our offense.

In the end, I'm not too upset about this loss, I mean we're still 9-2 with the second best record in the NFL and the rest of our schedule looks softer IMO.

I swear one of these posts appear every time Gore doesn't go for 100+. There were much bigger reasons why we struggled on Thursday. Not one player on the entire team had a good game. But yeah, Gore is washed up. Once he rushes for 100+ everyone will be riding his nuts again.

Agreed. OP's post was actually a good post. It just had a bad thread title. People are overreacting to the thread title without actually reading the post. I'm not really surprised though.

Yep, now every team with Suggs, Ed Reed and Ngata will know EXACTLY what to do to beat the 49ers.

Lets face it, we were set to lose this game. No other team in nfl history has crossed 3 time zones to play on a thursday night like the niners had to. Let alone against a team like the ravens who look un beatable at home. But this is not a topic about excuses. Lets look at it this way. The last time the niners lost was against dallas and what happens? After that they run off 8 straight wins. Counting regular season games left assumed first round bye, the niners would have to win how many games to be super bowl champs? Thats right 8. OPTIMISM!!!! Also, with all the wins we have not really seen things to improve on. Its hard to find things to fix when everything is working. Its much easier to fix something after a loss because well, you see something that doesnt work. Thats just me being an optimist. What are your thoughts?

The ineffectiveness of the niners against the Ravens on Thu. night illustrates clearly the problem w/ niner fans on this board giving excuses for the way the offense was playing during the win streak. The offense was simply inadequate. Third down completions during the streak was horrible and TDs in the redzone was deficient. This is why Alex Smith missing Crabtree for a wide open TD during the AZ game is problematic. Things like that get covered against a lousy opponent, but against a decent one they become glaringly obvious.
The niners had a tremendous amount of miscuses offensively during the win streak.
Miscues should not be taken lightly. I keep hearing Harbaugh saying that we want to be better tomorrow than today. Well one place to start would be to fix the mistakes that happened in the past. Now I don't know if the niners are addressing the issues seen in previous games, but things like
- play calling in the redzone
- dropped balls
- available play calls on 3rd down
- addressing a large portion of Gore's runs being less than 3 yards. I know his average is strong, but there is a significant number of the runs (which end up being drive killers that make minimal gain)
