I have wondered. Could the 49ers play nickel defense even on first down? It would help our pass defense, and our starting ILB are both on the field, as well as Aldon Smith. We would give up some on rush defense, but considering how good we are, maybe that is acceptable? Imagine being so good in run defense that we could play nickel on most downs (I would only use 3-4 defense on 2nd and 5 or 3rd and 3).

We ran nickel most of the game vs both the eagles and lions

Wish I was, thought it was Johnson too but a poster pointed it out a few weeks ago. Johnson did it then a few weeks later grant ran all over us too

So do I. It's hard to talk up the streak beyond the point where two RB's on the other side go for 95+. Technically it's still a streak, but come on.
