Singletary was a good individual motivator but he never had the background to be a successful head coach. It was beyond his capabilities.

singletary was a retard.
he wanted to win. everyone does. good coaches know how to get there, not just say they want to get there. i hope he gets another head coaching gig so i can watch and laugh while he f**ks up some other team.

Singletary was a retarded screaming circus monkey who had no business being anything more than a mediocre LB coach with a Rah Rah attitude and a nice playing career.

Singletary would be a good college coach imho. He clearly was not ready and was in over his head. That doesn't necessarily always have to be the case. Especially in the college level where ra-ra can go a long way.

Singletary did help get this team going back in the right direction, and he definitely contributed to the positive we're seeing today. Harbaugh has simply seized the moment and given the 49ers players exactly what they needed in terms of a coach to play for. Good for you for stating this!

Sing helped guide Patrick Willis to where he is today as a LB, he helped put together a solid D, and he snapped Vernon Davis into the right mindset. Im thankful for those 3 things, but otherwise i dont miss him one bit.

I thank Singletary for letting these players appreciate JUST HOW GOOD they have it now. They've seen the absolute rock bottom of how things can get in the NFL and thus I think they appreciate Harbaugh and are willing to go all out for him that much more.

I really don't give him any props for P Willy or the D but my god did he break down VD. I'll always love him for that.

the team's plan was to suck for 9 years to stock up on top 10 picks, then find a coach.

he mentored Patrick Willis from day 1 until he left last year...how does he not get credit? Obviously Willis is special with or without him, but did you already forget their relationship? i guarantee you that if you ask Willis, he will tell you how much Singletary did for him, explaining how to be great in the NFL at MLB. there was no question Willis got a boost from that.
maybe giving him credit for the D is too far, but between Nolan and Sing, they did a good job of taking a crappy, soft defensive squad and making it tough, especially in the front 7. Its not a secret that since Erickson left our D went from one of the worst in the league to one of the very best. weve been stuffing the run at an elite level for years now.

Singletary should be a LB coach in the NFL - that's what he is best at. Nothing more, nothing less.
