Alex Smith Thread

I can think of only one QB who blossomed into a legit SB QB this late in his career, Rich Gannon. Having Brown and Rice sure didn't hurt. I enjoyed the game yesterday and maybe he does follow Gannon, but I wouldn't bet on it. People annointed Philly's D because of the names, but they really haven't played well at all this year. There a just certain physical limitations AS has. That being said, until there's a better alternative, what do you do/

It's easy to say that we should get a better QB, but in reality it's extremely unlikely that any elite QB will be available. And I think the worst thing we could do is shell out $65M for a guy like Kevin Kolb. I'd rather have Alex on a reasonable contract and use cap space on other positions.

Unless Brady, Rogers, Brees, Rivers, or someone of that ilk is available...and fat chance of that happening...we gotta bring Alex back, and then hope to snag a top notch QB in the draft. That's the only way you can get one.

That's pretty much what I HOPE happens. I think Ryan Lindley would be a solid option in the later round perhaps maybe the 3rd or 4th, no real projections yet on him just my assumption. Ryan Tannehill is another option to keep an. But I also do like Tolzien as thee primary back up, who I think is much more ready to enter a game than you know who.
I know its early but I believe if we keep playing the way we've been playing, then we will obviously get to the playoffs and have a possible run like the packers last year.

I truly believe we can beat Atlanta, Detroit, cowboys, saints. We almost beat falcons and saints last year with a crappy head coach.

We added more playmakers this year(whitner,Edwards, Rogers,Aldon Smith)

We have harbaugh who has beaten the "dream team" and was in position to beat the cowgirls.

Now beating the packers would be a difficult game.

I don't see why we couldn't make it to the nfc championship game.

I see us, packers, falcons, cowboys, saints and lions in the playoffs.

Packers and saints getting a first round bye.

I think we have a better record than the cowboys so I see us playing the falcons at home.

I think we are more talented than the falcons despite a close game we win 24-20
lions beat cowboys at home again lol

Since lions are a wild card they go to green bay.
We would have to go to new Orleans.

We could eliminate their running game and force some turnovers from breed we will win.
Their defense is worse than Philadelphias IMO.

I shhootout. Us winning 32-30

Next play the packers in the championship game at lambaeu field. Ouch

We could have momentum on our side and pull off a miracle but damn I don't see us having an answer for Rodgers.
M sure we can score on that defense but it would take forcing turnovers and harbaugh outcoaching McCarthy to win.

don't mean to rain on anybody's parade....I'm happy were winning........but doesn't it feel like we've been very lucky on these wins?........don't get me wrong we will take the win.........i just hope we continue winning
