TRADE RUMOR ALERT
Interesting article today from MM raises an interesting question re: Rachal. If you read between the lines, it appears that Chilo Rachal might be traded soon!
http://www.csnbayarea.com/08/25/11/49ers-camp-report-824-My-two-left-feet/l_49ers.html
The article starts off with: "The team had 15 offensive linemen working in group though RG Chilo Rachal, dressed in sweats, only watched and listened. The team gave no reason why he was not able to take part."
The same article ends with: "I had an interesting and informal chat with Trent Baalke about the O-line. He is very pleased with the depth the team has now and considers it a strength of the team. He said other teams have contacted the 49ers offering draft picks as they look to add some of that depth to their depleted rosters."
////////////////////////////////
Put that together with the fact that Jim Harbaugh was recently overly, surprisingly complimentary of Rachal:
Chilo's "starting spot, which seemed precarious early in the week, seemed a lot safer after Harbaugh praised him on Thursday." http://blogs.sacbee.com/49ers/archives/2011/08/every-player-review-of-training-camp.html
/////////////////////////////
This was after Harbaugh questioned Chilo's manhood: http://www.mercurynews.com/tim-kawakami/ci_18756947?source=rss
"You alluded to Chilo Rachal's commitment earlier and he's spoken to that. Did you ever have a conversation with him about that issue?
-HARBAUGH: I'm just starting to get to know all of these guys, really, over the last month. And a lot of it is a conversation at a time. Chilo, he's a private guy, and he likes to let his actions speak for what he does. And we haven't had that specific talk. But I'm glad to hear that he told you that. It's something I've seen just by his actions. Probably that's the best thing to go off of, and that's what made an impression on me, and that's why I said that the other day."

What do you think, what would the Niners trade Rachal (a second rounder) for?
Do you think Seattle or Cinncinati or San Diego or the Raiders would take him?

I said this in another thread, that he was getting traded because he keeps "being out with random issues" it pretty much seems like he is getting the taylor mays treatment. Slide Anthony Davis to guard, and put boone outside, or put boone at RG..
Championship!

This would be a bad idea. One that could prove to not hurt us, but I tell ya, Rachal was straight ballin' last weekend, and really only had one bad play vs the Saints also. Rachal takes a lot of criticism and rightly so if judging the prior years... but he was impressive as of late. Kilgore is very young and unproven, and Wragge looked like he could step in and start if we did trade Rachal... but I wouldn't do that. This superior coaching has him improving.

That might not be a bad idea. Gallery turned into a good player when Oakland put him at hairs.
