It's not an insult when its directed at MD, its either truth or standard procedure, usually both. Go and read any of his posts or arguments, instead of debating with an unbias objective opinion or facts, he comes out with a "holier than thou" attitude and never admits wrong even though the majority of time he is. Example: If I rated 250 prospects for the draft and put my own opinions on them (which i poached from multiple draft sites), chances are I will hit on allot of picks, but Im gonna miss a bunch too. Instead of acknowledging the misses, Ill make excuse after excuse and then point to the 3 picks I nailed ignoring the 20 I complete failed at. Then Im gonna insult your football knowledge and say you don't know sh*t about football, once Im proven wrong there Ill resort to pointing out spelling corrections in your post because thats the best my unoriginal mind can come up with as an insult, or Ill call you Baalkes wife/lover/sister etc. Once I get owned in a thread I write down who completely destroyed me in a debate and never respond to them again, and wait for the next unsuspecting new poster to try and pick on to show my epicness..... sound about right? Not the most respectable way to be taken seriously on a message board.

under Baalke, we seem to do pretty well with late round picks and UDFAs.

Now, if we could make him brush up a little better on the 1st, 2nd, 3d, and 4th rounds (where most of our money is being spent BTW), he might turn into a good GM.

the second round is the one that kills us. 3rd round: Bowman and Culliver; 4th Round: Kendall Hunter. I think that's pretty good.
obviously, the jury is still out on ALL of the picks the last two years.

Read article and they're right, too risky if Dobbs was to be released and put on PS. I think this guy finally makes the roster. Too much good highlight film to prove that he's legit. Love reading about guys like this who play their heart out in preseason and make the team, waaay better than all those articles out there of high profile players complaining and holding out for more $$$$.

Taylor Mays, nuff said.... (I should add that Taylor looked awful against the Colts yesterday BTW)
You might even include Dancing Dixon too.

I would bet you 100 tacos that if Dobbs made the plays he's making during the regular season, he'd be holding out for more $ in a heart beat.

Seems like a solid backup and good character guy. Hopefully the Niners can retain him. Isn't he a little small for a DE though?

Dobbs will be rotating with the starters. He is a beast. He is a good late 2nd round or 3rd round pick at this point. I guess if we screwed up by selecting Tin-Man Mays then Dobbs makes up for that bone head selection. Too bad we couldn't have had a good 2 and Dobbs. That's how the good teams select. There has got to be a program that can be written where players are given ratings for all of their physical, mental and intangible traits so that GMs can get a better gauge on whether a player will be successful. We need to get silicon valley working on that one.

You'll win that taco bet. And he should, but this is a guy who's just trying to make a team and probably making minimum pay. In his case, it'd be well-deserved. Compare that to high drafted players or those who make millions, but want even more. Big difference.

i get what you're saying. I love rooting for guys like Dobbs, because the odds are so stacked against them. But I love rooting for those highly drafted players too, because they're usually better players. I don't begrudge football players to make as much as they can.

When he didn't make Maddog's big board (or "Big Board") then most teams chose to ignore him.
The Niners only signed him as an UDFA cause they always do the opposite of what MadDog thinks.
That, or they have a scouting department that actually knows what they're doing.
What is it with you and insulting people??
You should pay more attention to MD. He brings a lot on himself.
If you don't like it, DON'T pay attention.

He has definitely earned a roster spot, he never looked this good in college.

Dobb's has given the coaches a reason to make this team every single week. I will be shocked if he isn't on the team and he seems to have so much potential. If he can put on some muscle by next year look out.
