As to answer why he wasnt drafted, allot of player in college are victims of a #'s game, established seniors, injuries, more highly touted freshmen coming in and stealing reps, different defensive schemes... all that plays a factor. I mean look at Matt Cassel, never started a game since highschool yet was given a chance in a scheme that suited his skill set and boom he gets paid a franchise tag then a big contract. James Harrison is another example, same with Harvery Dahl. Sometimes its just about putting guys in the right position for their skillset rather than sticking to the square peg round hole mentality.
He makes the 53 no doubt, he may not suit up on gameday but I cant wait to see what another year of professional conditioning and technique does for him. His situational awareness, IE: the spinning backfist to cause the fumble on the chargers RB shows that he has already adjusted to the speed of the game and is improvising, very rare for a rookie DL.
Sky is the limit if he continues to develop.
Well, I like what you say, but . . . nah, I'm going with the "he didn't make MadDog's Big Bored" theory.
Double D can't really be that good unless MD sez he is, and that would be an admission that the Niner Front Office, Baalke et al, may actually know what they're doing--at least some of the time.
Just doesn't seem likely.
