When I watch elite QBs, they adjust their protection to what the defense shows them. Alex hasn't shown me he can read blitzes well, at least pre-snap. And a lot of protection issues start even before that ball is snapped.

really? I read on the Steelers forum that he has a grade 1 high ankle sprain and he should be good to go.
He will not play.

I had heard it was grade 2...but if it is grade 1, he'll play.

High ankle sprains are not a joke, its probably very hard for him to walk without pain. Bradford missed games with it, as did Adrian Peterson.
Steelers need him for the playoffs and can afford to have him make it worse.

Especially against this D that tackles and hits very well. I agree.
If they do let him play, man, that DL is going to be lickin' their chops!!!!

David Akers has made more FGs than any other kicker has even attempted
Also, 42 of his kickoffs have been touchbacks. He and Andy Lee have been HUGE for us this year, and the play of those 2 will be big in this game for us.

our offense will be unable to move the ball, causing our D to play possession after possession in our territory. They'll hold up well, but will eventually break. I think our no RB TD streak ends this Monday.

yea I have faith in our defense but our offense...fack that s**t was frustrating this week. One of my buddies has the steelers defense and asked me if I should start him...I said yes because frank is hurt and our offense looks like s**t.

I would love for Alex to throw three touchdowns. But I don't think this will happen. The Steelers' fast receivers terrify me. Tarell Brown and Goldson are going to have to play way smarter.
If we win.. it'll be low scoring, defensive. My prediction:
49ers 19
Steelers 17

This is the game where the O-line can trully get Alex Smith hurt!
I was surprised he kept getting up during the Ravens game, he better learn how to hit his hot reads instead of going into that fetal position when the blitz is on.
ColKap could be coming in this week...
