I think Jacobs size has a big effect late in the 4th quarter. Eli does just enough to pass on our suspect secondary. The Giants D creates pressure, against our ok o-line, with just 4 guys allowing their LBs to stop the run and clog any passing lanes. Giants win 27-9, showing that while we're better than we've been the last 8 years, we still have a lot of work to do.

Yeah that 27th-ranked rushing D shouldn't have any problem shutting down a potential MVP candidate in Gore. Jacobs is going to wear our D down like Blount did?

playoff game in November.

we're the best team the NYG has faced, and they're the best we've faced.

old school NFC rivalry.

can't wait for this game!

I think the Giants in NY would be the best we've faced. I would take the Giants at candlestick any day of the week over Cincy in Cincy or Detroit in Detroit.
So I got this as the Giants toughest game yet and the niners third toughest. Toughest game at home though so far considering tampa didn't show up to play.

Yeah, Detroit in Detroit might be tougher--that game, to me, also had an "early playoff" atmosphere--but the Giants are experienced and deep and have many more weapons on offense and Eli is much better than Stafford.

Definitely our toughest home game so far. We need to exert an advantage here, for once.

It will definitely be interesting to see. I still feel like the niners played down to the competition against the browns and need to be truly challenged at home.

yeah, i think the last two games were just "taking care of business." The team looked different against Detroit; offensively, obviously, we looked worse than the last two weeks, but just the overall intensity of the team was different. I fully expect that team to show up, and hopefully it will bring along the offense from the Tampa Bay game.
I'm scared guys, you can't spell "ELITE" without ELI

Lost in Washington with 9 starters missing the game..

And yes we played like s**t vs Seattle, but if Cruz catches that ball we win.

49ers have 2 impressive wins IMO Vs Lions and Vs Tampa.
They also lost to Dallas at home when Romo had broken ribs and punctured lung.

Every team has a bad loss, its the NFL.

49ers Schedule hasnt been that hard either

Browns
Seattle
Eagles
Redskins
Tampa (Who you destroyed)

Giants had
Miami
Arizona
Eagles
Rams

We also beat the 4-1 Bills and 5-2 Patriots (on the road)
Miami? ari? rams? mind you we are 4-0 on the road. the giants wil have their hands full with our D, this is the best D in the nfl.

Thank You! Four east coast road wins in six weeks is pretty impressive no matter who it's against . . .The last one against Washington was the least impressive, the Philly game was a 20 point come back and the other two were against teams currently sitting at 6-2.

Out of the 8 games we have played, how many running backs have even finished. We have knocked out at least 5. Jacobs isnt fast enough or elusive enough to hurt us. Legarret Blount is just as big, younger and faster. Look what we did to him. Jacobs is old and slow, that is just a fact. His body has taken to much of a pounding.

Eagles and Redskins had the only backs to finish the games against us.

Lets not get too worried guys. This is the same Giants team that lost in Washington and lost at home to the seachickens. They had a good win over the Bills at home and last week at the pats but have lost to 2 bad teams and have had a fairly easy schedule. The niners are by far the best defense the Giants will have faced this year and start what will be a tough stretch for the Giants in the second half of their schedule. I think this will be a very good game and will prove which team has what it takes.

You have beaten the Pats and Bills, but one thing is a fact and that's NYG has not played a top level Defensive fronts or overall Defense yet. Now take a look at the Niners schedule, we have played some of the top Defenses in the league if not Defensive fronts: TB, DET, PHI, WAS, SEA, CLE, DAL, CIN.

Almost all of our opponents have either a very stout front or a top of the line pass rush. I don't see anything in that category in the NYG schedule.

Your offense is not proven yet. They haven't run through a gambit of tough defenses. Say what you want about our offense but we have faced some of the tougher defense.

As for our Defenses, I think it is safe to say our Defense has faced some dangerous passing attacks AND running attacks.

I'm not buying the Pats as they are like butter on Defense. Bills are solid and that's a good win but they appear to be coming back down to Earth.
Our secondary did not have a good game against Washington, the receivers where getting open but lucky for us Beck is a terrible QB. Eli is playing really good so our secondary better show up. It will be a tough but exciting game.

I think we leave disappointed. The secondary has been an issue all year, remember 400 yards to Vick. And you're right about Washington.

So do I. But do you feel comfortable that we can win consistently with receivers running free, when the opponent has a competent QB? If it wasn't Beck, back there, the score is a lot closer.

This is the main concern I have. Legit veteran QB's have torched us because they find the open guys. Stafford is still young and inconsistent and that helped us stop their passing game more than anything as he is very dependent on one WR. We analyzed his stats prior to that game and the stats clearly showed CJ bails him out with Staffords unimpressive yards per completion prior to playing SF.

Veteran QB's know where to go and where to throw. Our secondary will need to be very discipline but having said that, we really haven't blitzed anyone and I have a feeling we will vs the Giants and put Manning in situations where he is hurried.

Exactly. We have a history of making some average QBs look like world beaters. I know the coaching is better, but it is still Brown/Spencer/Culliver (still a rookie) on one side of the field.

we're always going to give up more yardage through the air than the average team cus u cant run on us. we still have the best redzone D and give up the fewest points, thats what wins. these fans who rely too much on yardage stats to make their points are hilarious.

LIfelong NY Giants fan, coming to the Game with 5 other NY Giants fans.

Niners have been playing well all year, Giants have had their slip ups (Seattle). I dont count the Redskins game as a slip as, we had a rash of injuries in camp and they werent ready yet week 1.

Eli has played well all year 13 tds 6 picks (one in garbage time vs Seattle)..

Niners have a strong running game, and a stout run defense.

Giants have had their full offensive line together twice this year, and both of those games they ran well.

Bradshaw ( may be out) but Jacobs this past week 22 touches for 100 yards is very servicable.
Nicks and Baas will be back.

Meaning the Giants starting WR are Nicks, Manningham, Slot is Cruz, Emerging star Ballard at TE and Barden as the 4th WR.

The NY Giants never get blown out and they never blow anyone out.

I expect this game to be hard hitting, and hope that it comes down to A. Smith having to make a play. If the Giants can contain Gore to 100 yards on 25 carries, they win the game.

A. Smith is the NY Jets version of Mark Sanchez, he can lose you the game, but he surely isnt going to win it for you.

Either way, this will be a great game and I cant wait to visit SF for the first time of my life.

6 tickets and 2 parking passes we paid $315 total..

See you all at the tailgate party and good luck to both teams

Parking passes are $30 dollars, where are your seats at? You got 6 tickets for $255? Must be rocket seats. Still not a bad deal at all.
I was looking at one of there forums. I thought it was funny that they think to beat us it will be as simple has stopping the run and making alex pass. I think to my self that there was 7 other teams saying the same thing. " Stack 8-9 in the box and they will not be able to run." Guess what someone tried that, and it did not work.

Cannot wait for this game!
