Well maybe we will get lucky and the team will keep getting better and we won't need to. If Smith plays as well as he did against the raiders consistently, e will be fine. The key is the o line, if they are solid, the rest of the offense will be as well.
I'm still banking on 3-4 tips from Crabs that will turn in INT's
From what I read today, Crabs won't be starting until he catches up with the rest of the offense. Harbaugh is going to make him work for his playing time. He has great hands so the only other excuse for those is lack of concentration, which is unacceptable.

It'll be fun to see what Kaepernick can do against the 1s of a defense that's improved vastly.
For all the people complaining about this taking away PT from Smith, Harbaugh did say that Smith will play the first few drives and will come back again, so I don't see what the problem is. Better to get your future QB ready now.

I'm really excited to see if the team can play even better than last week. I just finished last weeks game yesterday and was very happy with the progression of the entire team. It was the Raiders but they still looked good.
On a side note, I'd love to see just a few chances downfield. That pass Alex made last week and the catch by Braylon was just sick!

Alex used his eyes on that play, he was looking right the whole time and moved the safety. Once the safety moved, he knew it was 1 on 1 and threw a perfect pass. It was well defended and Edwards made a sick catch. The most important thing on that play was our qb had a clean pocket to throw out of, the timing of the play never got disrupted. This is a good sign and I love how it's becoming a chess match again. Protect the king and counter whatever the opponent's moves are. In this case Alex made a move the safety countered and Alex countered back. Man I'm so glad smart football is back in San Fran!

Agreed! I just hope alex can do that consistently. One thing he has struggled with is the ability to "throw the reciever open." Braylon was well covered, but Smith put the ball in a spot where onlt the WR could get it.

What is even better is that if the FS doesn't move, then Alex probably completes a pass to the right side or the underneath option. Nice.
