Wow, so you are serious. A) He's been excelling with the first team defense B) Why on earth would we inform him last night that he is going to be cut? We haven't even played a preseason game and don't need to make cuts for another month or so. C'mon man. 
well if he is seriously hurt he is either getting cut or going to the ir. thats a 50/50 shot imo. something is going on, and nobody knows at this point what that is. its all just speculation at this point.
his damn dog could have died for all we know. but the goldson signing doesnt look good for his immediate future does it?
Heres the speculatory options:
1) Injured, may not be a serious injury, but this was a chance for a guy like Reggie to step up and start as Whitner is the only for sure starting safety.
2) Goldson resigning, not sure how big of an impact this is as the contract was for $2m. That's not exactly force him in the line up type money. Reggie still has a chance of snatching the starting FS if he shows he is the best option in preseason.
3) About to be traded, this is pure speculation with no sources or basis, however he was named in that email with Mays. Dont see it happening unless there was a ridiculous offer. Smith is the closest thing we have to a true FS.
My guess is that he got an injury that will sideline him for preseason. This would prompt a call to Goldson from the FO to see if he has any interest in returning, and give Smith the feeling he lost his opportunity to entrench himself as the #1 and prompt the twitter posts.
