Not at all. It is a usual thing here.
how can the appropriate reaction be an overreaction???
In 2003 if someone said we would not make the playoffs again the rest of the decade....was that an overreaction?
Exactly...what's the appropriate reaction to cockamamie comments like that? Despite anything he does (getting Harbaugh), he continues to come off like this incompetent tool.
People that don't like the comment and saying it was dumb, seems like a reasonable reaction. It's a matter of opinion, so calling it dumb is certainly a valid opinion.
Saying, the 49ers will never win again with this guy as owner, seems like an over-reaction. So I guess we're going 0-16 this year and the next, and the next...
Your interpretation of said phrase is a bit on the literal side.

I'm not a fan of the ownership/management of this team either but I don't think Jed meant that "for real." Cmon guys...a bit of an over reaction.
What else is he supposed to say.."yeah well...we f**ked up man."

Agreed, but look through this thread, and all of the outrage over some stupid silly comment that really has no bearing on anything. There's so much hyperbole in here, that my literal interpretation seems reasonable based on the response to his comment.

I haven heard the interview but I believe in Jed! I have no problem with the aproch we are taking..
we have a new coach with new coordinators, even fangio said he wanted to wait to see the guys in practice before finishing the playbook!! they dont know what they have!!!
coaches are studying the team, I also believe we have good talent on this team.. if in defense is aldon smith can be a good solid pick and rush the passer avobe average we will have a better defence that last year and on offence we needed to bring alex back! is at simple as that, with the lockout we needed some continuity and he gave us that we also drafted the air apparent for the future, so in my mind we only need a WR and some depth in the oline...
to me the team is talented enough to win the west, the problem is that the coaches and scheme are all new and they just had too little time to work for with this guys, so if the team understands the scheme fast we will be on the hunt for a good season this year, if not there is no reason in my mind that with this team we can be in the playoffs next season..
I know I am a half full kind of guy, but I am very exited about this era of niner fooball!!

Fair enough. I mean I don't think this comment will change how many games we win or lose but it just comes off as so shallow considering we finished 3rd place in a division that was won with a 7-9 record.

We won't go 0-16 repeatedly. But we'll probably never see the playoffs again with this clown at the helm.
Then there's no point in the team even showing up on Sunday, I guess.
I never said that. I just said that it's foolish for fans to get their hopes up of a turnaround under this ownership. I personally watch games for the lulz, because it gives me something to do on Sundays, and because we do have some talented players on the team that I enjoy watching. But I don't expect victories.

Bunch of people here apparently wanted him to say, "We're NOT going to win the NFC West but I promise we'll try! Why did the other teams add a bunch of players? Well it's because they know they can beat us if they do of course!"

Maybe he doesn't think they f**ked up. Maybe they want to build through the draft, and sign role-playing free agents, not the big names that are on the back 9 of their careers. Take a New England or Pittsburgh approach.
