How many sacks will Aldon Smith have in his rookie season? | Page 16

It is going to be very interesting to see how we use Aldon Smith in his rookie year. I am very curious to see what this young man has to offer. Clearly we drafted him primarily as a pass rusher. Obviously his biggest obstacle in his rooking campaign will be playing time. Heres to hoping he develops fast and can contribute as soon as possible. Our coaching staff must be extremely excited to mold this guy into a quarterbacks worst nightmare!

Haralson was hurt in Detroit. Aldon played a lot then too, probably more. Funny how against Detroit he had a similar dominant performance.
For some reason playing time has a large correlation to Aldon Smith's performance.

I watched Aldon Smith quite a bit the last couple years (I'm originally from Missouri and try to follow Mizzou) -- anyway, I knew from watching him that he was better than some had said -- but with his injury last year I didn't know how good he could be. My over/under was 8 sacks -- but the kid is a beast....

We're looking at possibly the defensive rookie of the year and a once in a generation player
He's close to Jevon Kearse's NFL record of 14.5 sacks by a rookie
imagine if he'd played as many downs as rookie Von Miller(11 sacks) this season,I believe he would've
shattered the record.

Correct...he broke Haleys rookie record and I think the Niner record is 17 or 17.5 by Fred Dean. 13 ain't bad for a "reach".

Actually I think its 14.5 by Kearse.

EDIT: just confirmed, he had 14.5......and never again got close to that number.
