Lawson..Willis...Spikes..Aldon
Not too shabby
Compared to what? I would take half a dozen other starting 3-4 LB's units over that squad.
I'm going by the assumption that we took Aldon 7th overall because he can be a dominant passrusher. If we have a LB unit with Willis, a 10+ sack guy, then throw in Spikes and Lawson. That is pretty good.
First off there is a disease around here where fans like to believe in April that the player the team just drafted will somehow magically not be a rookie in Sept.
If, and it is a pretty big If.....If Smith can develop, its years away so Smith and Spikes will never be good at the same time together.
in 2011 there will be far superior LB crews working.
In the future..... ?, Willis, Bowman, Smith could be something to notice but for next season I don't see it
No one likes Brooks?
Smith/Laboy (if we get him back), Willis, Spikes/Bowman and Lawson/Brooks seems like a good LB core to me.
What worries me about Brooks is that it's been a long time since he's had to report in... it sucks to say but I think he probably reports in at 280-ish and out of shape, not the way to impress a new coaching staff.
I dunno..Brooks attitude has actually benefited from MS...I bet he shows up ready to play.
Yeah but even when MS was here last year and there was all that hype and optimism about being a top 5 D, and players were putting in extra work yada yada yada... he still showed up overweight.
