I'd have to agree that I did under-rate Baas. He has not been one of my favorites but seemed to do better at center this year. Over-rated as a guard and under-rated as a center?

Not necessarily. Nobody here has been high on Baas as a guard. In fact, we were all welcoming him exiting since he was entering the last year of his contract. It was by sheer dumb luck that he actually worked out at C.

I wouldn't call it sheer dumb luck. He played Center his senior season at Michigan. He was projected as the top rated center.

Except he hadn't played C in over 4 years and if Heitmann had not gotten injured, he likely would not have played C at all.

If Heitmann did not get injured, he would very likely have been on his way out after another disastrous stint at LG. Another team would have picked him up and moved him to C at which point he goes to the Probowl. It just how it goes with us.

We're not arguing with one another, I voted him most underrated as well. Just saying he was center back in the day and he was not totally unfamiliar with position. As a guard we were all ready to throw him under the bus. That's precisely why he got my vote.
Does anyone have any idea what a guy like Delaine Walker could do in a New England type offense? It is so sad how under appreciated he is in San Fran cuz of how awful our offenses have been since he's been here.

Oh, we're not. However, the fact that he was moved to C is what I call out as luck.
