Beerows............used to be Maiocco before he went mainstream.
I'll take Maiocco he's always quick to report niner news plus I give him respect for having to give up his niner fandom to cover them. I still think he's a fan but doesn't show it to the public.

He should just embrace it, Mychael Urban does and he's a great insider for the Giants while openly being a fan of theirs.
I can haz both?
When I first started reading beat writers stuff I liked bee-rows... Than I learned about maiocco when he was with press democrat and was a loyal reader but ever since he went to comcast it jus doesn't appeal to me as much... Branch is cool to read here and there he generally keeps it short... I like kawakami's opinions about the niners on twitter but most of the time he's Internet fighting with people who hate him...they aren't any real good beat writers right now

Kawakami because he sounds like a Motorcycle!

KKKKKAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!
I like Eric Branch. His columns to me, are always entertaining to read. I like the fact that sometimes he'll go deep into it. Such as interviewing other coaches for references and articles on who we have on our staff . Both Matt's are good too. Maiocco seems to be straight to the point now and Barrows is always humorous. But as of now Branch is a favorite.
Cohn, Kawakami, and White are not beat writers. They are columnists. Huge
difference between the two titles.

To me beat writers are all the same. As long as their facts are straight they're
ok with me.

Matt Barrows.
We're pretty fortunate to have a number of very good sportswriters...but, I find myself always looking for MM's articles first. To me, he's the ultimate authority...I know I can always get the straight scoop from him. That's not to say Barrows, White, Brown, et al aren't good, too, because they are. It's just that MM has built up such a reputation (that's well earned) I look to him first.
