I left 3 minutes before the 3rd quarter ended bro,let me tell you what I saw.
-smith is "gun shy" and never takes shots downfield.
-pass rush is non existent
-secondary?
-smith had some easy 10+ runs but seems like he hesitates to much
-charger fans are rowdy lol
also did you guys notice when the offense was on the sideline it seems like they were never together?i always so smith by himself, dudes no leader.ive been a simpletary/smith supporter since the beginning, but this embarrassing loss was the last straw. cant wait to clean house and get a real head coach..like they always say there is always next year and i cant wait. lets just finish on a positive note 7-9 (5-1 division) and get a QB and coach next year
cant believe i drove from el paso,tx to see that ass whooping! lmao

Not unexpected outcome but so very dissapointed in how we lost.
We had so many chances to make a big play and get the Mo on our side but in every single case we didn't get it done.
Coaching was a complete joke and seemed as though we just showed up with no plan of attack cause it was a short week.
The D really was a let down and Clements started us off by letting a pop up turn into a TD. Any decent db gets a pick there or at worst breaks up that lob pass. The Brooks drop was another huge Mo changer. He picks that off and we get right back into the game. Overall, the D was putty and had no answers: no pass rush at all, no db within 5 yards on most routes and no takeaways.
Offense was just as bad but I blame most of it on the OC. D. Walker's drop was a biggie and who knows where that drive ends up. The biggest of all is the goal line stand and once again I gotta blame the OC. With 6 inchs to go, you have to qb sneak that thing. Why on earth would you hand off that ball to a back 5 yards away when the qb is right on the goal line?
Of course, we can throw in the penalties: Justin Smith getting tossed, Norris face mask costing us a td, etc.
We have the unfortunate combo of bad coaching and no player (either side of the ball) stepping up and making the big play.

Yep, if we want to move forward, we need a new HC and Offensive Coordinator with a new QB. I'd rather start fresh than see Alexis Smith fail with another playbook.
An upgrade in the secondary is much needed too. In the meantime, I'd like to see us at least finish out the season with wins vs. our NFC West rivals.
Bottom line, this season was a complete waste of time.
Pathetic.

Was at the game and tailgate, very impressive turnout by the Niner Faithful, love all you guys. We have a great, knowledgeable fan base and I'm proud to be a part of it.
Pathetic performance by our team and coaches tonight. Pathetic. To make matters worse, a good friend of mine was at a local bar last night and he saw Vernon Davis there drinking alcohol. Some other tailgaters were at a different bar and saw "several" Niners players drinking and partying last night. Awesome, thanks guys.
Coaching, as pathetic as it's ever been. In person, it's so obvious how much more athletic we are than the opposition, and this game was no different. But our players constantly look lost and out of position. But even with as bad as the coaching is, the effort was just not there.
There is so much wrong with this team it's unreal

Why do people make excuses for Alex? I don't get it. What has he done? He had a mediocre season under Norv Turner, therefore he'll eventually be good? Is it because he has 3 good games a year right as he's about to get benched or comes back from being benched? Can't be that, otherwise they would all want Rex Grossman signed. I just don't get it. The guy doesn't anticipate WRs getting open. The reason why he sucks is he waits til a WR is absolutely open. This is not bashing just everything was pretty much confirmed in my head tonight. And I'm wondering why people still need to make excuses.
alex isn't good, but the people who are "making excuses for him" are--by and large--calling attention to the fact that this team has had many other problems besides the QB. But most "football fans" can only watch football by focusing on the QB, so they assume that any discussion of anything not pertaining to the QB is "making an excuse for him."

Clean House.... Please bring me a priest so i can exercise the demons! Start with alex, sing, Racheal, Harlson Franklin can walk also his job is to occupy blockers and if willis isn't clean he's not doing his job. Bring in a coach with a offensive mind set!!!!
keep justin smith, willis and spikes, lawson, goldson... Let taylor mays get playing time over reggie smith. Get goldson a new contract he's just the only guy in the secondary and he's doing to much.
Draft a new Cb, Passrusher to get harlson off the team he's a scrub. And a new QB groom him right. a guy not afraid to take a shot down field. DON"T RUN GORE INTO THE GROUND!

1. Justin Smith-love the guy but that was the stupidest thing I've seen in a while. He deserved to be kicked out.
2. O-line- Horrible performance. The one thing that gets me the most is 4th and Goal at the 6 inch line and we miss a block.
3. D. Walker/Ahmad Brooks- Catch the ball please... These could have been game changing catches but unfortunatly no bueno.
4. Alex Smith/VD/Crabtree- Don't know who to blame but all 3. Alex never got them the ball, were they open? I really don't know, but something is defiantly wrong.
5. Play Calling- Same as above. We didn't have a balanced attack. It seemed many times we ran the exact opposite of what we should run. THe bubble screen to D. Walker for example. Played that right into the defenses hands. It was 3rd and 2, and we throw backwards.
6. Coaching- What was our gameplan? One second it looked as if we were going to try to run it, then the next second we throw 3 passes in a row. No balance. No specific game plan nothing.
All in all this whole team played horrible. I was going to write more but it's kind of a waste of time. You can blame ALex's bad performance all you want. I am a supporter and think he played horrible. But at the same time, not one specific player or coach did any better in the least. This whole team was just dismal and got beat in every aspect of the game.

The fact that VD only got the ball once speaks volumes to me.

That was a good defense, and Alex can't improvise and beat a good defense. He held the ball too long and contributed to some of the sacks he took. When the game was slipping hopelessly out of reach, he was still playing conservative and checking down. Very disappointed with him and have thrown in the towel. What a shame that all of those talented players on the Niners can only muster five wins. Pathetic.

I didn't even watch the game because I was at work, but I heard Alex Smith sucked balls.

If you want to watch well conceived routes, watch some of the stuff the Chargers run. There is some very clever stuff going on there.

We need a coaching staff. I didn't think we were going to win this game, I figured we would win the last two for sure. But I wonder if the players just throw in the towel after this

He was about #20 in the line of reasons why they 49ers lost tonight. They were just outplayed and outcoached by a much better team. Smith had no chance against the Charger defense. They covered everything and gave him very little time to throw.

how many sacks did we give up?
