49ers TE Vernon Davis is taking part in walk-through. My diagnosis: He'll play every snap Sunday vs. Panthers. He hasn't missed a play, yet.

Not sure how you can be hating on Vernon. Maybe in his first three years you had something to complain about but the transformation of that guy is unbelievable. He has shown up and come to play game in and game out this year.

I believe this is a huge year for Vernon. The team is struggling and he is emerging as even more of a team leader than he was before. Glad we locked this guy up as I think he will be instrumental in getting this team turned around in the next few years.

I agree, gotta love a TE that sticks up for his QB and tells his idiot HC to stfu. My only complaint about VD is how bad he reads Defenses and he's a bit stiff, but his hands have improved a lot this year too.

Ugh, krizay wasn't knocking Vernon. All he said was that most NFL TE's could make that play which is true.

Totally disagree. There are not that many TE's in the league with Vernon's speed. He outruns linbackers and some safeties.

He outruns all LB's, almost all Safety's and many CB's. The speed made that play.

Vernon will burn almost anyone to a crisp...

He outruns all LB's, almost all Safety's and many CB's. The speed made that play.

Not to mention his strength as well which makes it possible for him to break a lot of tackles.

Davis' attitude has improved a great deal and his physical speed is excellent but he is still lacking in critical basics that all good TEs possess, ie., ability to read and adjust to defenses and running routes across the formation in traffic. Those areas are places he still struggles. Part of that is coaching, but how much I can't say.
