Also when your top 0-lineman the last 3 tears is back healthy and he doesn't sniff the field with this o-line says a lot about Sings stubborness or ignorance.

Sims back as LT, move Staley to RT.

If Heitman is healthy, C.

Whoever is best at RG (I don't think anybody has stood out), keep Iupati at LG.

Could work.

I think Davis needs time to develop/fully mature (not even 21 yet, is he?). I don't think I ever understood the Chilo draft pick, but I was hopeful. He sure has looked bad and/or inconsistant this year. I'm certainly ready for some changes on the O line. I knew that, as a minimum, the first half of this year was going to be painful for the line as it developed with 2 rookies starting, but I don't think I ever envisioned it this bad.

The bit above about Staley having a shoulder injury would help to explain things, but if that is the case, why haven't the Coaches pulled him so that a healthy player is in what is usually considered the most important spot? Has Sims slipped that bad?????

Tough call b/c if you move Staley to RT, where else are we going to run? Gore is way too slow laterally to string along and then dart up the line. He only has two runs now...up the gut and behind Davis off RT. If we made changes along the line, we'd need to change Gore for Dixon too.

Man, Staley and Davis are just terrible. Every single pass play Smith is running for his life. I can somewhat understand Davis but Staley? This guy has gotten worse every year. FO's was noting that we also run the least off Staley's side too. Wonderful..he can't pass block and we can't run off his edge. This is a HUGE problem people. The talk of Chilo is seems to be the spotlight but watch our tackles and tell me what you think.

This OL is beyond bad , h*ll they still are letting defenses folks run thru unblocked at times .

Yeah, and it didn't help that Johnson kept calling bootlegs when their ends weren't even biting on the run.

Somethings gotta give. The line is way too pourous. Smith is just terrible under pressure.
it has not been good.
I can't help but wonder if Staley is hurt.

I spent a large portion of the game simply watching Staley and he appears to be having an absolute dog of a time getting any power out of his legs. Granted the surface was quite slippery today, but his legs frequently went out from under him when he tried to plant and leverage. He didn't look himself today and I wonder if something is up?
I can't believe I am about to say this but the OLine needs to look like this

Staley/Sims-Iupati-Heitman-Baas-Snyder

That was pretty much the Oline last year when Smith took over and it played leaps and bounds better than the line is playing this year. Chilo and Davis need to be benched and fast! chilo just sucks and Davis was rushed into the starting role.

Since we're already a predictable line with personnel packages and recent history, can we bring in Davis at RT for running plays and, um...two blocking TE's (instead of a RT) on the right side and Gore blocking to the right when we pass? LOL

I formation= run
any other formation than that=pass

THIS is what I couldn't understand. If you are in the huddle, calling a QB roll out to the right (MJ wanted to get Smith running more this week) how the eff are not one, but TWO Dlinemen running completely unblocked off that RIGHT SIDE. I can see the left side (take 'em longer to get there and the pass should be out by then) but the right? The RIGHT SIDE? How...

Sadly, this is SO true!
The staley trade was a bust, they could have kept the first round pick and got sedrick ellis, and any other RT is better than staley. we netted bust balmer and staley.

Our drafting plain sucks, we pass up desaun not onece but twice, for kentwan balmer and chilo rachal. pathetic.
Staley would have cost us the game if Alex had not stuck it to the Haiders on the next play. I wish that Dixon had gone in for the TD.

We do need to mix in Dixon more. Gore is the man, but he needs to let the team do what it has to do to win. I know he wants to win as bad as the fans do. He has been putting up with this same stuff since 2005!

I wouldn't move Staley to RT at all. I would return the OLine to what it was last year. It played a lot better last year than it has this year.
