Sing says it's execution and not philosophy. If that's the case then players must be held accountable. If today is any indicator, it seems that, at least for now, the niners are serious about making demonstrable change, that would have to include who gets to start.
So the question is who gets benched and who gets the start? Beyond the obvious qb position, what other positions need to be addressed.
To me the most glaring one is Rachal and possibly Davis (RT)(bring Sims back for the short-term), followed by both safety positions. Someone else to consider is Haralson, who has provided little pass rush and seems susceptible to the screen pass.
RACHAL for sure...against the Saints our OL was stout..then Rachal comes in...ALSO Anthony DAVIS is starting to remind me of KWAME HARRIS.
I hate drafting babies...especially in the first round. DAVIS is freakin 20 YEARS OLD. He tried to punch someone in the kidneys yesterday
that guy was grabbing his dick
I think most people would punch another dude in the kidneys or in the face if some guy started grabbing their junk. Well...unless they like that kind of stuff.

chilo needs to sit. better yet, sit him on the last bench near the locker room, with a dunce cap on.
you can't go replacing both the safeties. start off with one at a time. although, dashon is not having a great year, thus far. isn't lewis hurt? do we see mays now?
and i agree with getting more of a rotation going with certain defensive players.

This, except crabtree! Davis is a rookie, and I agree with most that say he is going to have some growing pains. I would actually like to see less of Norris and more of Byham. I would also like to see Gore and Westbrook in at the same time, as they did near the end of the game...

Chilo. Then replace Chilo's number with Iupati's, than have Chilo legally change his last name to Harris.
Crabs. He didn't want to practice hard and didn't think he needed play in the preason-and it shows.
Bench Norris. He is useless, and simply gets mauled and pushed back by linebackers.
Lewis. Lewis is simply done.

Crabs shouldn't be benched! Alex needs to stop forcing balls! EVEN IF CRABS DIDNT SLIP, FLOWERS JUMPED THE ROUTE! Chilo needs to get benched! I hated A davis pick, can't call him a bust yet, but he isn't ready, THATS FOR SURE!
Smith needs to stand in the pocket and take a hit here and there, but still making a play down field. But he gets happy feet and runs! TERRIBLE PLAY. Problem is, Carr and T smith are just as bad!

what is Smith's trade value right now? I'm wondering what we could get now vs just releasing him at the end of the season.....

Our problems extend beyond Smith. That's the purpose of this thread, to address the other glaring problems created by our other starters.

who I think will get benched is different than who I think SHOULD get benched.
I think we will see the following:
Rachel out, Snyder in
Quote:Eric Mangini was correct. He is a diva. He doesn't read defenses and is afraid of contact. The one pick yesterday was 80% Crabtree. Reggie Wayne or Marques Colston would have gone inside and used their body to shield the defender away from that pass. Both of them would have made that a completed pass.
Crabtree out, Zeigler in
Quote:When you have one of the most productive all-round backs in the league and you use him on three plays in three games, something is wrong.
Norris less utilized, Westbrook more utilized
Quote:ARGGGG. I don't know, Brooks was terrible yesterday. He made mistake after mistake after mistake. Haralson was getting beat physically but at least he was attempting to make the correct move. Brooks was out of position much of the time.
Haralson less utilized, Brooks more utilized
I think (HOPE?) the move of getting rid of Raye will bring some confidence back to the offense, and to the defense as well, and some of these guys will begin to play like the can. This team has slightly above average talent but is playing with no confidence at all right now. The biggest job of the staff will be to sell Johnson as a breath of fresh air that will change the attitude of the players.
