What would you give these guys....

Schaub, Cutler, Rivers, Sanchez, McNabb, Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, Orton, Vick and Ryan
?????

By many of your standards, you should be giving nearly 50% of the QB's an A every week.

That doesn't seem like you are being critical enough.

But of course this is Homerism, I am sure many of you will find many many faults in the guys above listed game 2 performances

Was there a rule for a grading Bell Curve? The poll is not about ranking QB performances of the week.

IMHO that should be implied. The NFL is a competitive league.
his best game to date, too bad he's reached his ceiling and will still continue to suck.
Lol at the D grade I already know who voted the D grade its either susweel or ZRF80.

That is BIG because I have always criticized him for throwing balls behind his receiver. This rather redundant but he did come through when he needed to. It really did not surprise me when he came back at the end. He did it before in 2007 against the Cards on MNF. Without the Turnovers he has his best game of his 6-year career in my mind.

I think an A is a bit much... I'll say B- tops! He didn't set the world on fire he just (for the first time) played like an NFL QB! The early pass to Gore was an extension of last weeks high and stupid routine. He still lacks as a leader and has some fundamental problems but this is still far and away his best performance - with lots of room for improvement! Don't let the bar being so lowered distort your vision. He played well but then again isn't he supposed to???

Dirty
49% are Kool Aid drinkers. You cannot lose, throw two picks, and get an excellent rating.
Solid B but in now way shape or form an A.

On the 2 point attempt he also could have ran it into the end zone, it was so wide open a slow mo joe like me could have ran it in,.

I could give a Rat's furry ass about the other guys Danimal. I would still give Alex the A based on what he did all game long.

Without that pesky Delay of Game penalty brought about by Davis's loss of focus Alex would have once again carved up the Saints like a turkey.

This is not Homerism on my part. This is Smith not doing this before over a whole game and imho, it was indeed worthy of an A. Since there is no -/+ grade in the options then I gotta give him an A. If there were I would take into consideration the 2 turnovers and downgrade for them even though in this case shat happens and give him an A- overall. Since there isn't, anything less than an A is not indicative of what he did on the field.

Not giving a Rats furry ass about how well your competitors do is EXACTLY how you get on a 7 year playoff drought.

So maybe you should start caring

I edited my original post and now listed 13 QB's who played better than Alex last week, at least debatably or statistically speaking. And 10 of those guys won their games.

Thats the problem with Alex supporters. I have been saying this for years. You guys don't pay enough attention to the other QB's in the world. There are, were and will be better options for the Niners. That is if you can let go. Which the Niners can't, and some fans can't. Which is why they deserve to lose.

The goal is to outplay those other guys you don't give a rats furry ass about.

He get an A- because he had a great game and only one bad pass. Every QB has 1-2 off-target passes per game. Even Brees missed a few.

What I liked most about Alex game was that he's showing a mental toughness that has been missing from his game for so long.

IF the line will give him time to find an open receiver and those receivers hold onto the ball, he can win some games for us.
Alex gets a B from me. This was the best all-around performance I have ever seen from Alex Smith. One interception was his fault but the other one the Saints guy just made a lucky play. Alex Smith was very accurate after the second series of the game and he ran when necessary. He led two drives over 80 yards, outstanding! I still don't believe in Alex Smith but I want him to make me eat crow. If Alex plays like he did after the second series for the rest of the year the 49ers will win the division. Alex still gets too many passes tipped so it's something he has to work on, but last night Alex played like a pro football player. I think you're drinking a lot of kool-aid if you give any quarterback with 2 int's an A but Smith was definitely above average.

You're making up rules.

BTW, I saw that you added Romo to your "better-performing" QB list. Don't you know that his YPA and QB rating in the game against the Bears were lower than Smith's? Even worse, Romo simply choked in the fourth quarter.
I am just providing context.

Alex's performance was no better than almost half of the QB's in week 2.

So I won't argue if you want to give him an A. Just know that an A may not look that impressive anymore.

I grade on a curve. And he gets a B- from me.

For the record, if he had a B- game every week. I would never want him replaced. So a B- in my book is still very good. I just don't like to diminish what an A should be reserved for.

thats all.

Did you sit down and watch some of those other people play this week and be AS CRITICAL as you are being with Alex I would venture to say not. I say that becuase i find it funny that Alex can impress me, from a Defensive Coachs tandpoint, he can impress Jaws, a legit nfl qb, and Jon Gruden, still an amazing nfl Hc, but he can not impress the likes of Danimal, be real, Alex Smith impressed all those people last night because he played lights out except for 1 pass and Qbs will always make mistakes if you believe otherwise you are a blind hater. The 2nd int Jaws and gruden both went as far as to break it down and explain why it wasnt A.S's fault, from a scheme/technical standpoint Alex did the right thing, and that defeneder made an amazing play. Be "real" if Alex is impressing some of the best football minds out there with his play, you sitting in here and parading around that his play was mediocre is beyond retarded and shows your real ability to understand football in a bias way.

No, the goal is to outplay the guys on the other side of the field and Alex didn't come short this game. Other players tipped Alex's passes, Bass' mistake was his alone, Delanie's mistake was his own, Adams' mistake was his own.

Alex did his part and did it well.

So the B- I gave Alex is hating? LMAO. I have heard Gruden and Jaws talk up LOTS of QB's they were covering. Whats the point?

I would love if we could settle this bet. Cus I would bet a significant amount of cash that Jaws and Gruden would have graded his performance a B, not an A
