This is the same team that keeps going 8-8 and barely missing the playoffs in a weak division because they can't get out of their own way. We showcased just about every single way we've screwed ourselves in the last 3 or 4 years, all in one game.
Tip passes for picks, fumbles near the endzone, poor return team play, terrible field position, stupid penalties at the worst time, nothing has changed.
For a team that needs to play everything close to the vest, they sure are completely undisciplined at the worst times. We can't beat ANYBODY doing this, and just because it was the Saints that we screwed up against doesn't mean we're suddenly going to become cured of what ails us.
We couldn't afford to piss away a division game against a team with question marks, and we couldn't afford to just give one of our 6 1/2 home games away.
Watching us beat ourselves again in a winnable game against a good team was disappointing as hell. Maybe it's cuz I don't think as little of Alex as a lot of the people on this board, but i'm not real happy with what just transpired.

Finally, a post that makes sense. It's the same s**t wrapped in different packaging. The team still makes the same (if not more) mistakes, but that's alright as long as we're competitive with a good team. f**k that. Just how many times are we going to have to look for a silver lining in order to stay positive? Personally, I'll be happy when the reality is we're actually stacking up wins, and we really are playoff bound. Right now we're 0-2, and still clinging on to a baseless hope.

I don't know if I'd call any of'em 'moral victories,' but Alex looked great, Gore looked Great, the O-line looked much better, and the D looked really good. If those are "moral victories," than enjoy your hatred, but the Niners far outplayed the Saints. Turnovers are the obvious, and only, lacking element that decided the game.

Ummm... singletary never said anything about a moral victory, and i don't think our team is looking at it as a moral victory. So the question is, do the fans see this as a moral victory? and the answer: who gives a f**k.

What really matters is making the playoffs, and playing well when you hit the playoffs. I strongly believe that both are still well alive.

Now that we are playing catch up we need to win games consistently, 1-2-3 or 4 in a row, while the Seahawks need to lose 1-2-3 in a row. What makes you think this will happen when we haven't won a game yet and got blown out by them on week 1?

i agree, a loss is a loss, and were in a huge hole, no matter how well we played...but theres nothing wrong with taking positives away from the game
from my point of view, predicting our schedule, i picked us to lose this one, so were still only one game behind where i thought wed be, if we win 2 of the next 3, were in good striking position for the division...not saying thats a given by any means, we have a lot of work to do

Yeah, who gives a f**k. They are misfits. Next week the misfits take on the Chiefs, they will either get a W or an L. Pretty damn simple s**t. lol

I don't care what anyone says, but after last week, I'll take a moral victory.

Im very happy today. Do anyone even see Alex Smith wearing a wristband with the plays. Thats a major impovement. Damn I saw for the first time take total command of the offense. Even keep his poise. Making things happen by scrambling for first downs. I thought he was going to choke when we were down 9-0. I see nothing but positive people. Lets go niner empire. I LOVE THE NINERS TILL I DIE.
