8-8. Is that good enough to win the West? Probably not, someone will edge us out at 9-7.

Also I thought Alex would be better with 2 years in the same system. Wrong again. He's maybe worse. Crabtree has gone backwards. He doesn't even know the routes. The O Line has 2 rookies and they will get somebody killed eventually. It hasn't happened yet but it will.
Our D who everybody says is our strong suit has corner after corner jumping routes all day instead of playing it in a more reasonable way. And it's more than just Nate Clements who gets all the bashing here. All our corners suck and the safetys too. They are "run defense" only guys. They aren't pass defense guys. And where is the pass rush?
We are down to our 3rd string PR man on special teams. It seems like a theme for us every year. I can't wait until they start dropping it at the 5 yard line giving the other teams first and goal from the 5 like last year...
We have a HC who yells at the media when they ask tough questions and has no coaching answers. Just motivational speeches. And we have among the weakest ownership I've ever seen in any sport. They hire and stick with idiots for years and years at a time. You just don't recover from something like that very quickly.
So knowing what I know now. I'd say 1 - 15.
I remember you said something similar last season and we ended up 8-8 so maybe 9-7 happens this season.

10-6
Wins against Rams (2), Cards (2), Seattle (redemption), Eagles, Raiders, Panthers, Broncos, Bucs, highly possible at KC = 10 wins
Still Faithful

We'll finish somewhere between 5-11 and 7-9.
5-11 if things get really bad and Singletary totally loses the team....a real danger if we're sitting at 0-4 in early October.
7-9 if the team can salvage a win in September (maybe win in KC?).

This team will finish with a winning record...and will win the West. The team we all saw in Seattle is not our team. That was a team that thought the game was won before they even got on the field. All off season and weeks leading up that game, everyone (the experts, fans, etc) built them up and basically handed them the division. The loss woke them up...as it would for anyone. You will see a different team Monday.

Like everyone else in the world I am very alarmed by what I saw on Sunday. How can you spend 6 months preparing for a game and fall so flat on your face? But despite my concerns about the competence of the coaching staff, I still see a very talented team that should get better as the year goes along. Too many people assumed that the O-line was "fixed" because we drafted Davis and Iupati. The truth is we have an O-line with two rookie starters and three players in new positions. It's going to take at least half a season for that unit to gel. Ever since the schedule came out I've been saying that we'd be lucky to be 4-4 at the bye. In the first 8 games we play in the two toughest stadiums in the league, Seattle and KC, and we host the world champs for our home opener. Add to that, we have to fly half way around the world to host a "home" game. But if we can find a way to get to 4-4 at the bye, we can still finish strong and go 5-3 down the stretch. I'm sticking with my prediction of 9-7.

You don't think it's possible that we played terrible week one, but we can't turn it around? You don't think it's possible that the coaching staff gets their s*it together along with Alex? I think it's very possible and we will be a different team this week, win or lose.

9-7 or 10-6 with a playoff birth... Same thing I said months ago.
