Per source, retired 49ers RT Anthony Davis will pay back his unearned signing bonus money. It will be a significant chunk of change.

Players are giving back millions of dollars not to play for the 49ers.

How sad.
Might be time to call up old Chip in Philly and see what the Iggles want for Evan Mathis. The 49ers can certainly afford him now.

Staley-Mathis-Kilgore-Thomas or Martin-Boone

I could live with that.

This is what happens when you hire Tomsula as your HC

This

And Baalke drafting quitters.

Baalke wasn't GM when A.D. was drafted, thank you.
Who do you think drafted him?

He was drafted 5 years ago. I don't recall anyone calling him a quitter previously.

his college coach schiano questioned whether he'd be a 2nd and 3rd contract guy

That was after he signed his second contract, has nothing to do with when he was getting drafted out of college. That being said his college coach who was a miserable failure as an NFL coach did have a point I guess.

anthony commented on it after he signed his 2nd deal. the comment from schiano goes back to when he was coaching him at rutgers.

Just pisses me off this dude gets paid and then quits. Lame.

This pisses me off way more than Borland, who got a mere $450K bonus, Davis got $8.5M in a signing bonus, no way the 49ers let him walk away with that.

Wonder how much cap space this gives us. We suddenly could have a ton of room.

At least thats the bright side of it.

Who's next

to me

it seems like after harbaugh left

Players are looking the situation and FO, and are just saying f**k it

Can't really blame these guys retiring. Why give it ur all when the FO isn't as dedicated?

I know you'll deny it, or just ignore this post and not reply, but you might be the worst troll on this site. Especially if you believe ( or just say to piss people off) that baalke and co aren't fully dedicated. Or your an idiot. I think troll is more likely.

Call me what u want, but you can't deny what's unfolding right before your eyes. I wouldn't want to play for a band aid coaching staff.

But go ahead and believe we're contending for a Super Bowl, because Jed says so. Lol.
At least he has the decency to give back his unearned signing bonus

lol, I doubt he had a choice, the 49ers certainly would have gone after it, that's a huge chunk of change.
Oh boy... How many starters will we lose before the start of the season? KAP needs more time not less. This is starting to piss me off.

Lol yea ok
I understand these guys are more aware of the long term dangers of playing in the NFL than the generations before, but 4 49ers in one offseason? Yes we were ready for Justin Smith to pack it in but this is just nutso!

Problem is we may not get it all at once, they may divide it up over a few seasons.

It's going to be $1.5M times 3, since he didn't earn 3 years worth of his new signing bonus. So $4.5M he would have to pay back.
