No doubt he's faster now than when he first came into league. Let's hope our team steps it up the next few years so Gore gets more of the recognition he deserves.

people only want spiller for a speedy return guy (and make up for no DeSean)
Exactly. We all know Gore is dangerous but we need the type of return game and change of pace that Spiller provides.
no return man is worth a first round pick.

It would depend on the team, granted Hester wasn't a 1st round pick but if you told me a 1st round pick would have the same year Hester had when the Bears went to the super bowl I would take it. Especially with a defense oriented team, field position is huge. And if that player can come in and be a good 3rd down back, just another plus.
But I do agree that we don't really have a "luxury" pick this year. We have a chance to solidify some key areas and as much as Spiller would be a fun weapon, I'd rather get two solid starters for the next 5-10 years, then a situational back/returner.
And Gore's da sh*t!

agree
but we have some major holes to fill and a return man is defintely one of them but its not first round worthy.
Get the OLinemen done and the DBs done then we go after a return man.
2nd round : Jahvid Best.
i would jizz my pants.

But then if you would've told me that Hester would fall off, and his numbers wouldn't be as good anymore as a PR/KR...
Either way, I sure as hell wouldn't spend a top 10 pick on a kick returner, we have other holes.

You never spend a first round pick on someone just to return kicks, especially when we have so many other needs that require those picks. You get returners in the later rounds.

Everyone wants to see what smith can do in year 2 as i do but what about gore, Gore gets over a grand year in and year out with different OC`s bad blocking etc... I cant wait to see how Gore is gonna do in year 2 of the same system and hopefully with a real OL.

Their is no better football run than the one where it took about 5 Seattle Seahawks and an Illegal facemask to take GORE DOWN.

Gore was always pretty fast.
The only reason he ever got caught from behind is because he used to be so afraid of fumbling, that he kept turning and looking backwards for defenders as he was running because he was scared to death of fumbling. Try running the 40 yard dash while looking backwards, your speed drops dramatically.
Last year, he just exploded and ran, rarely turning his head and slowing down.

That was a awesome run. I love watching gore terrorize the seahawks......the only problem is he always breaks a huge run every game and then our QB throws three incompletions.

I own four gore Jerseys and I have to buy a fresh one before every season. I hope we keep him until he retires also, he will definitley go down as one of the best niner RBs of all time if not the best.
