I'm pissed. I live in FL and planned on going to Jax for the game. Why are the Niners always picked for Euro games?!?! Now I have to go to Tampa.

I really think installing a team in London would be a cool thing. If they're going to do it, and it seems like one of Goodell's aspirations, they have to have fan support. you only get that from playing football there. It's necessary from that standpoint.
Plus, they could call that team the:
London Redcoats
Put them in the AFC east so they have to play the patriots 2x a year. Redcoats come to boston to play the Patriots? Epic rivalry.
Actually, they could play here twice. Once in Foxboro against the pats, Revolutionary War, and again in Maryland against the ravens, War of 1812. And if history repeats, USA team wins both games.

John York (Jed's dad) is head of the NFL's international committee...IIRC he volunteered the team for it, but at least this time Niners won't lose a home game (unlike in 2010 against the Broncos)

War of 1812 was more of a draw....Brits were tired of fighting it, and had to remobilize full strength in Europe to take out Napoleon for good

The first thing I think of when considering a vacation in Europe is not doing something American. The last time my wife and I were in Paris, we saw some American tourists eating in a MacDonalds and we thought, "what are you doing?" And, the last thing I want to do in Europe is go to Disneyland. But, I think we would have to change our thinking if we found ourselves in London and had a chance to go to a Niner game with a bunch of our British friends. That would be damn fun.

Homefield advantage......49ers are highly popular in London, Jaguars aren't even popular in Jacksonville.

#49ers potentially could play two of the teams set to host a game in London next year. A look at their 2014 sked...
