Problem is, it's very difficult for Shaun Hill to throw out patterns or anywhere near the sidelines. It would be a waste of VD running exotic routes.

Exactly, Denver probably has the best o-line in the league (which is why Orton is looking like a pro-bowl QB). Since their o-line is good, they have the flexibility to spread things out a bit.
