Still think hill arm is weak ?

have him, Alex Smith and Nate Davis have a football throwing competition then we'll have our answer!!

Nate Davis wins that competition hands down... he obviosly has the strongest arm of the 3 qb's
He had two really nice downfield throws and at least 3 that were poor. I worry about him underthrowing long passes and giving the defense a chance to intercept.

wow tha was a crap pass downfield to bruce if that's what your talking about. bruce had to stop to make that catch.
Yes alot of his short throws had no zip and our players had to stop and make an adjustment
he can air it out, but to me his problem is his accuracy for long distances.
Hill does have a decent arm not to strong but not weak. i wouldnt question his arm i question why he holds on to the dam ball to long.

Don't make it sound like the coaches are holding Noodle Arm back , he is really limited , I mean he struggled to make a short out to Gore let alone the deep out, I'm no fan, his throws have so little velocity guys are waiting for them and the defenders are given an opportunity to make a play on them , that being said he did a nice job on the one and only drive of the game , check out the td toss to Gore it looks like Franks is straining to get it in time so he can get in the end zone. The pass to Bruce was nice also but only a wanna be scout thinks he can throw.

What concerned me was that he seemed a little inaccurate. He overthrew receivers a few times.

Honestly, the guy does not have a truly great arm. But he's got a good head and some serious heart. Ok, that sounds cheesy. But it's still true.

True, but I think that had a lot to do with being rushed and not being able to step up in the pocket. The right-side of the O-line broke down fast and if you noticed, a few of Hill's deep attempts to the right-side of the field he was staring right at a pass rush.

Cut the excuses he has to deal with things breaking down , I thought handling breakdowns was one of his intangibles? BTW very impressive going all Jim Everett, my 80 year Mom has a bigger arm. Fans can love him for whatever reason they want but let's stop pretending he has any semblance of an arm , he makes Chad Pennington look like Favre

How is that an excuse rather than what was actually seen as a problem?? You can't deny how fast the pocket was breaking down yesterday.

If Hill has such a weak arm what is he doing OVER-THROWING his receivers??

I am thinking Hill's arm is more smashmouth than the 49ers running game.

I'm sure it's stronger than mine...

From my highlight posted right above, Bruce caught that pass in stride.

yup, its a hell of a throw, and the one to Gore doesn't float as much as someone said either. its zips in there just fine. Don't know why people gotta hate on our QB who made some major plays for us in the 4th quarter.

well, when most of his throws come on a single drive and he completes 75% including the go-ahead touchdown, and his one long pass is perfectly thrown to hit the receiver in stride, I think its fair to say that the coaches held back on the passing game. When Hill is called upon to make plays he makes them. Its pretty obvious if you watch the games.
