Which bubble 49er do you want on the 53-man roster the most?

Which bubble 49er do you want on the 53-man roster the most?

I would choose RJF. He has been impressive. He gets a push, and he has drawn attention with alot of double teams. A DL in the 3-4, is a tough place to stand out, however, much as Nate Davis has played very well against the back-ups and 3rd stringers, so has RJF.

I understand the sentiment for keeping Boone for OL depth. Be that as it may, I would rather see him develop on the practice squad, and have the team sign a veteran like Levi Jones, if we really needed to because of injury. I also think he has a much better shot at making it to the practice squad than RJF.

Spurlock has some nice upside and is versatile. At the end of the day though, the last WR on the depth chart is simply waiting for Crabtree to sign before he is gone.
my updated 53-man team for opening day.

QB: 13 Shaun Hill, 11 Alex Smith, 7 Nate Davis
RB: 21 Frank Gore, 29 Glen Coffee, 24 Michael Robinson, 30 Kory Sheets
FB: 44 Moran Norris
WR: 88 Isaac Bruce, 83 Arnaz Battle, 89 Jason Hill
WR: 84 Josh Morgan, 81 Brandon Jones, 17 Dominique Zeigler(Would be next to go if Crabs signs)
TE: 85 Vernon Davis, 46 Delanie Walker, 48 Bear Pascoe(Too much potential, and would be plucked up off waivers)
C: 66 Eric Heitmann, 59 Cody Wallace
OG: 64 David Baas, 62 Chilo Rachal, 69 Tony Wragge
OT: 74 Joe Staley, 68 Adam Snyder, 65 Barry Sims, 77 Jacob Bender

DE: 94 Justin Smith, 93 Demetric Evans
NT: 92 Aubrayo Franklin
DE: 90 Isaac Sopoaga, 96 Kentwan Balmer, 91 Ray McDonald
OLB: 99 Manny Lawson, 54 Marques Harris
ILB: 52 Patrick Willis, 53 Jeff Ulbrich
ILB: 51 Takeo Spikes, 56 Scott McKillop
OLB: 98 Parys Haralson, 55 Ahmad Brooks
CB: 22 Nate Clements, 36 Shawntae Spencer
FS: 38 Dashon Goldson, 26 Mark Roman
SS: 32 Michael Lewis, 30 Reggie Smith
CB: 25 Tarell Brown, 31 Dre' Bly, 23 Marcus Hudson

PK: 6 Joe Nedney
P: 4 Andy Lee
LS: 86 Brian Jennings
RS: 20 Allen Rossum

Tough Cuts:

Curtis Taylor, RJF, Boone, Brit Miller, Spurlock, Finley, Spanos, Green

Rest of the Cuts:

Rentmeester, Price, Kyle Howard, Egboh, Mitchell, Lambert, Moore, Roland, Dobson Collins, Briggs, Washington, Toledo
Thanks AB- good work as always.

The way I like to think of this is, which player would our competition most covet? That would be the guy to keep generally speaking.

I would think that RJF would be the most coveted by other teams.

Another reason to keep him is that it is always harder to find good big dudes than it is to find good little dudes (all other things being equal).

ahh Bender is your longshot making it, could happen

I think Both Matts have us only keping 8 OL's, I doubt that happens
we usually carry 9 and we may have a future starter in Boone or Bender, so i sure hope we keep one of them and try and put the other on the PS,

At WR, I think we go 5, and Ziggy gets cut (If Moneytree signs we go 6)
that extra spot goes to.... D'Briggs! or someone we grab off the waiver wire
yeah he's a real longshot to make it, but we need pass rushers, we even need very raw project with potential pass rushers

I agree with you with Boone but I think we take 6 WR with spurlock
Ricky jean F seems to be on the bubble. I would rather keep him around and see what he develops into rather than waiting for Ray Mcd or Soap to ever come around.
I don't know if Rolland is a bubble guy but he should be. Get rid of the older Jeff U and give rolland a chance.

I would rather have harris on the squad before briggs but I would rather have those two guys before brooks. JMO

Spurlock, because he's versatile and we're short on quality WRs at the moment.
